Floyd Mayweather vs. Kelly Pavlik

floyd would outbox pavlik, sort of like donny lalonde vs ray leonard without the K.O.

but in all seriousness floyd should not fight pavlik seeing as how he would be outweighed by 25lbs come fight night. that is crazy to think of and he would not have the reach advantage.

floyd is a small 147lber I would prefer he beat the cotto/mosley winner and call it a career. no need risking your health against such a large guy like pavlik.

I mean legacy wise floyd doesn't need the fight.

Floyd would have his moments no doubt, but the only way this fight is ending is with floyd on his back, getting carried from the arena on a stretcher.

Why should Mayweather fight Pavlik, when he can always fight VALUEV???

Floyd will KO Valuev in 2 rounds. The 3rd round will be Wlad and Floyd will KO Wlad in 3 rounds. Then Sam Peter will be next and so on. Floyd is so good he can beat anybody.

Back to reality, Floyd will have a good match against Hatton. Better talk about Hatton vs Floyd because they still have to fight.

 

Faster than a speeding bullet, but Floyd eventually would have to throw a punch and i don't care who you are, you are also going to have to take some over 12 rounds. Pavlik's power is that good and if he hit Floyd during the fight and if it is flush the question in my mind is how would Floyd react. So what is your answer on this question???I know you think Floyd is so fast that it would not happen but you make it sound that Floyd is untouchable. So without that in mind and by chance Pavlik catches him with a good shot can Floyd recover becuse once Pavlik has a guy hurt he is a great finisher as witnessed in his last two fights.

 

It can't be too hard to hit someone when your fist is bigger than their head.

 

Pavlik would wail on Floyd. Floyd would throw maybe 20 punches a round. It would be a massacre until Floyd got put away. If he didn't, he'll be beaten up for 12 rounds.

 

People get a little carried away with Floyds speed and elusiveness. They act like he can transport himself from in front of the opponent to behind him in a matter of milli-seconds, like the ugly ****ing guy from X-Men. Floyd gets put on the ropes and hit by every fighter he faces pretty much. Hoya had him there plenty of times, so did Judah, so did Baldomir. I honestly think that Floyd would've had a small chance against Taylor, simply because Taylor has so many holes in his game. But Pavlik seems to be pretty fundamentally sound and doesn't have any obvious or blatant weaknesses to exploit. He is very basic, yes, but very effective and consistent. He would look like a monster next to little Floyd and the size advantage in this case would be too much to overcome. Floyd would be completely wore down and frustrated by the 7th or 8th round and eventually stopped by the 10th.

 

Actually, the fact that people are giving this match any consideration and discussion at all is a testament to Mayweather's greatness, whether one thinks he will win or be beaten mercilessly. Mayweather is actually a Jr. Welterweight (he walks around at 147-148) that could, if he starved himself like most other fighters, fight at 135 or possibly at 130. Even the Mayweather hate club members are giving him props with their hate in this thread by saying he would last 8 to ten pounds with a guy that is 7 inches taller and could fight at heavy weight if he wanted.
