:happy At least you're fanhood knows its limitations:yep I salute you for rational thinking on this. Floyd wouldnt be likely TO WIN A ROUND:nono Pavlik uses a jab, has much better reach, height, and power= END OF FLOYD
Agreed, there is no shame in Floyd losing to Pavlik. Floyd is the better fighter but come on, posters who pick Floyd have never boxed, that is clear.
If people would have said Roy Jones Jr would go on to win the heavyweight championship when he was in middleweight after starting in Jr Middleweight, people would have said your F'ing crazy. If people would have said a middleweight by the name of James Toney was going to be fighting and exchanging shots with a heavyweight of a monster like Sam Peter who by weighed 100lbs more than what James Toney weighed at Middleweight (257lbs vs 157lbs), you would have said your F'ing crazy. If you were to say James Toney took Peters best shot and didn't go down, or get put out in a stretcher, you would have said your f'ing crazy. Guess what, it happened. My point is its not impossible as some people make it out to be. Some guys have certain athleticism & talent that they can carry up to a higher weight. Its not something that is achievable by most or most or majority boxers, but it is possible. And by the way, I would say that Floyd would have to work himself up to that weight. Being realistic, all people who have gone in weight make transitions. Such as moving up to the next weight class, fighting some guys there, moving up after that, etc.
Why can't you use some rational thinking, and remove the hateness shade? I agree with Pimp C on this one. Floyd might be able to get away for the first half of the fight, and land some counter shots. However, Pav would walk through them and eventually time and catch Floyd in the later rounds. Pavlik's relentless, has a good jab, and knows how to cut off the ring. I think it would look similar to Chico vs. Popo.
Mayweather is too fast, too much skill. Pavlik would be following him around the ring taking jabs/right hands all night.
All as say is that Floyd would have a better chance of winning than people think... Certainly not by K.O in my opinion. Of course, he would stand a chance of loosing as well. The reasoning behind giving him a chance is because he doesn't have any of those bad habits that would allow a guy like Pavlik capitalize on; He's excellent defensively & he's usually the guy who feeds off others' bad habits. This is in addition to him having good footwork, stamina, coordination, and natural instincts in the ring. One other thing: he doesn't get careless or try to brawl... he sticks to his gameplan. This has been a proven strategy for him in the past in all of the weightclasses he's fought in.
Actually I suppose with Pavlik's longer reach and height, he would have his advantages, so I dunno how this fight would go. I think Mayweather would probably stillwin a UD -- he's just too fast and his defense is uncanny.
Yea I can really see Floyd hurting Pavik, I mean after he walked throgh Miranda´s best right hands and all. :nut
