Showtime and GBP have to make money. So they aren't going to put it on regular Showtime. They could put it on CBS and make money from advertising, but ultimately it will be on PPV

Best bet would be to split venue Sept w/Canelo Alvarez Vs. Cotto.
Alvarez Cotto would draw like 25 thou & Floyd Vs. ? Would do like 10 or less.
(But Floyd gets the PPV credit)

My though on it is that show time could take a risk on it and put Floyd on show time and advertise their fall line up of movies and original show taking the lost in the short term but gaining more subscriber in the long term.
For floyd he can pretty much pick any opponent because the show is going to be free (to showtime subscribers) not have to do all that crazy promotion that a ppv event needs and flip it as him giving back to his fans. He gets another fight down marked off on his contract and gets a tune up for a clash in May with Canelo. Plus there will be more time to train and promote the fight with Canleo in may with 7 months time.

Canelo gets to headline his first ppv event before or after floyds fight.
Show time can do cross promotion between their two biggest fighters Floyd and Canelo
and golden boy gets money any which way it goes.

Some one would have to bit the bullet initially but it could be big for all involved and lead to another 2.4 million ppv event between Floyd and Canelo in may. Which could make up for the original lost they took on the free Floyd fight.

I am no bussines man or promoter but I think it could be done. But would the fans be happy with a free Floyd fight if it was against say an Alexander or a Khan.

Mayweather's purse is guaranteed. I think it's safe to say that $32M is the minimum he'll get(because Guerrero is a nobody and one of the worst possible opponents)..No way in hell Showtime/CBS is eating $32M. Their boxing budget last year was $28M for comparison.
