Floyd would be +270 at the best. Last time someone won with them odds on a major fight was when Casamayor best Katsidis. And that was in 2008, it's 2014 now so you got a 1 in 6 year shot bro.

Oh dear, a 52 year old man detests an anonymous being on an internet forum because of a difference in opinion - what a f*cking sentimental, soppy c*nt you are. :patsch

    ^^^^^^^^^^

Elton has acknowledged defeat in his own laughable argument without officially doing so. Continually diverting the topic is the only way of saving face in this instance.

I suppose exposure to nothing but children's comics and an overbearing, overprotective mother never gave you the chance to grow up and actually be a man.

odds dont really help fighters if the crowd cant manage to recognize stylistic problems. this was te case in the Norris - Ray Leonard fight.

few would admit that Ray could not handle a quick fighter who moved well and wouldnt sit still for him, and could pull the trigger quickly as was in the case with Norris. they simply didnt want to admit to themselves (and judging by Louden's reply, still don't) that the reason he avoided Hagler early on, and later Nunn, is becuz he couldnt succesfully deal with too much copious talent and latent power coming from hagler or Nunn so he either put them off for a few years, or never faced them at all

team Norris collaberation of Norris/Sayatovich/Abel Sanchez set the blueprint, the one that left Ray bewitched, bothered N bewildered.

You know, keep him guessing, keep him off balance, dig a body shot when he's not expecting it,and ALWAYS beat him to the punch. and when he tries to make his way inside, tie him up! nothing he can do about it

It was a brilliant plan, and Floyd would also use the same strategy even if he couldnt pull it off quite as well as Norris.

It's like when a music artist wants to perform another artist's hit that made them successful. They want to try to duplicate the results. they might not hit it quite as big, but will no doubt earn him a measure of success and remember, this is FLOYD were talking about. Floyd can be to the sport what Roy Jones and Hagler were in their day, and Duran, Ali, and Robinson in their day. Ray Leonard was only a runner

Mustve hit a nerve. I detest you only becuz you are a snivelling little coward who relies heavily on an inventive imagination and hyperbole for his convenience.

typical of lowlifes who cant succeed in life and must resort to deception, stealing and other dishonest methods to get what they otherwise could not get

    I understand, you're disadvantaged

If it makes you feel better, i can think of one that's even more stupid. yeah, it goes like this "you've been blocked" and was directed at me with the intention of fooling me into thinking "you mean he can actually DO THAT?"

"Mustve hit a nerve" - says the socially inept man-child that publicly admits to feeling so strongly about another user on a forum that he detests him.

"Inventive imagination" - irony obviously didn't feature much in the work of Stan Lee. :patsch

a rather poor attempt at an insult. whether the medium come by print or moving pictures, everyone loves Marvel. consistent number one spots at the box office each time out proves me right (as always :smoke)

you wouldnt know the name of Stan Lee unless you were deep into his work.

btw, how much did Ray Leonard stand to make against Pryor? 1 million?

No, it was a very appropriate one, highlighting the sheer nerve/audacity of you accusing anybody else of having an "Inventive imagination."

I don't care how many kids or sad, middle-aged tosspots shell out money to watch/read shite, either.

You're embarrassing yourself enough in this thread, Elton. There's already another active thread (another thread in which you're making a complete mockery of yourself) in which such a question is relevant, so please don't dilute this thread even further with your shameful diversion tactics. :-(

still no answer to the question which I'm sure by now you've forgotten. to provide the right answer would be your complete undoing which leads to the following conclusion: you've been outwitted once more; your short sightedness is truly a thing to behold.

You've made your intentions clear from the outset.

Which is to discredit Ray and his wins as much as possible, while hyping Floyd at the same time.

    You've failed miserably.

Even when I agree with you on certain points, it isn't enough.

You keep saying Hagler was finished etc.

    It's all bull****!

I agree that he was past his best. Nobody is claiming otherwise. But he wasn't completely shot against Mugabi, otherwise he'd never have stopped him.

I wouldn't even mind if you said that he was way past his best. That would be fine, and I wouldn't argue.

But he wasn't shot like Ali was against Berbick, or like how Mike was shot against McBride.

There's a huge difference between a shot fighter who's literally got nothing left to give, and a fighter that's past his best.

Marvin walked away from the sport because he was outraged at the decision.

If he'd have won that fight, there's probably a good chance that we'd have seen him again.

Also, you completely overlook that Ray hadn't fought for three years, he'd only fought ONCE in FIVE years, and he'd never fought at the weight. It's not like Ray was peak, and held all of the advantages.

    You're so biased, it's ridiculous.

Marvin threw that fight away, by not fighting southpaw straight away.

The truth is, it just pains you to give Ray any credit.

Now go away, and tell me what win Floyd has, that compares to that one?

And remember, you can't list Oscar, Shane or Cotto etc, because they were past their best like Marvin, so by your own logic, they don't count.

Floyd as great as he is, hasn't GOT ONE WIN as good as Ray's best wins.

    So keep hating.

    redrooster,

Initially, we were having a decent debate, but now it's just getting tedious.

You're not open to an educated, objective debate.

    Yes, they were all ploys.

The Doctors never really advised Ray to retire. :patsch

So what if Floyd's 38 and has never lost?

Calzaghe was 36, and 46-0, and never lost.

    So what?

Do you really believe that Floyd's zero means that he's better than any other fighter that's been beaten?

You don't even realise that you've backed yourself into a corner by discrediting Ray's wins.

Again, you don't give credit to Ray by beating fighters that's past their best.

Which undermines every post you make about Floyd.

    Ha!

Let me spell it out clearly for you.

BY USING YOUR OWN LOGIC, FLOYD HASN'T GOT ANY GREAT WINS. BECAUSE HE HAS NEVER FOUGHT AN ATG FIGHTER, THAT WAS PRIME!

    That's a FACT!

So if he's never beaten an ATG while prime, that means he has no great wins.

So, if he's got no great wins, his zero = NOTHING!

Nobody cares about his zero, if he's got no great wins.

Now you've really tied yourself up, haven't you?

Because if you agree, then you have to stop making references to Floyd's record.

If you disagree, then you have to take back everything you've said about Ray.

    Either way, you're basically f**ked.

You cannot keep discrediting Ray's resume, and then boasting about Floyd's.

Because in doing so, you are arguing against YOUR OWN logic.

Ray's resume is far superior to Floyd's.

You can keep throwing Ray's zero around. It doesn't change anything.

He hasn't fought against top notch fighters who were at their best.

So how has he earned more stripes??

    Of course they were different.

Floyd was born in 1977, and Ray was born in 1956.

How could the circumstances have been the same for both guys? :patsch

    How has Floyd done more?

He hasn't got the wins that stack up to Ray's.

He's beat more guys, and he's got the zero.

It may appear that he's done more from a statistical standpoint, but not when look objectively.

Floyd makes more money? Than who, Ray?

    Obviously.

Ray's peak was 30 years ago.

It's not a disdain, but stats don't allow for circumstances.

If you were new to boxing and you looked on BoxRec, it would appear that Trevor Berbick was a better fighter than Muhammad Ali.

Here you are doing comparisons again.

Everything needs to be put into context.

Now if you check my post history or go on to the General, you'll quickly establish that I'm Roy's biggest fan.

But he hasn't got the quality of wins that Ray's got, because he didn't have the great rivals that Ray had.

Winning titles in different weight classes needs looking at very closely.

Now it's obvious that in your mind, if a guy wins titles in two weight classes, and a guy wins titles in four, then the guy who's won titles in four weight classes, is the better boxer.

But that isn't necessarily the case.

Because if the guy who's won titles in two weight divisions, has beaten much better fighters, than he has achieved more overall.

Otherwise, Manny Pacquiao is the greatest fighter of all time.

Floyd Mayweather has not achieved more than what Ray Leonard did, overall.

Don't be a moron and call any pro a gutless coward.

Floyd seeks the most of every opportunity? :rofl

    How kind of you.

You can type whatever you want. Ray has had a much better career than Floyd has, and no BoxRec statistics are ever going to change that fact.

Nothing would ever have been enough for you.

If he'd have fought all those guys, you'd be name dropping someone else.

It would have been nice if we'd have seen Floyd fight early versions of Oscar, Shane and Cotto.

It would have been nice if we'd have seen a Marg fight or a Williams fight.

    It would be great.

There would never be a cherry on top for you.

If he'd have beaten Tyson in 88, it wouldn't have been enough.

    Your intentions are crystal clear.

Poor shot to **** Marvin, wasn't able to use his arms or legs, and resembled an 85 year old man, while facing a peak version of Ray, right?
