Floyd has said he is the greatest and thinks of himself as the best ever? I have followed Floyd and i dont think so on the other hand I have always heard he is the greatest ever. I have seen some footage of him and yes he looked GREAT. He looked like he had the Floyd Mayweather skills along with the Gatti courage and Mike Tyson type of power for his weight class. IS this correct or not? Man i wish i had grown up in those days. I love watching great live fights and they seem few and far in between in this era. Fill me in with more about Ray.

I think saying he had Tysonesque power is very exaggerated. His power was ok.

We never saw the best of Robinson because there is no film of his campaign at 147 pounds. He must have been great there. At that weight class, he is obviously the best ever and would beat anyone, he would KO Mayweather. I think that the only fighter that might beat Robinson at 147 is Hearns.

On the other hand, it is unfair comparing him with Floyd because Robinson is much bigger. Floyd was amazing and the best ever at 130 pounds.

Modern day fighters are extremely unlikely to match someone like Robinson or Greb or Armstrong due to the activity level.

Robinson was fighting like 15-20 times a year at one point and often against quality contenders. He was already facing the best lightweights in the world within a year of his pro debut.

Robinson is too big for Floyd. They are both complete fighters in their respective weight class. Robinson was more offensive orientied while Floyd is more defensive. If they were the same size then I think it would be an even fight but they are not so Ray would over power Floyd.

Even though Robinson is one of the greatest fighters to ever live, I prefer not to pick him to win (or lose) against other top WWs like Napoles, Hearns, and Leonard.

The footage I've seen of Robinson @ 147 is so grainy and poor.

Floyd would get his ass kicked by so many boxers it's not even funny. Him saying he's the best P4P boxer of all time is just...absoluticris!

SRR would beat Floyd at 147.

But SRL - SRR, now that would really be something.

Great fights are few and far between in this era? We've seen several awesome ones this year alone.

Hmm, I just don't think Hearns has the chin for Robinson. Leonard has a better shot as I see it.

Mayweather wins. Robinson was too open by todays standards. Floyd would have zero trouble just landing the jab on him, he basically has to finish the fight and he's won.

It's not a fair fight because of the size difference. Floyd is 5'8 and began at 130. Robinson was 5'11 and yes he began at 135, but he had the build to move all the way up to what is now Super Middleweight (165 1/2). Yes Floyd has a really long reach for his size (72" and an arm length of 26"), but the naturally bigger fighter is Robinson. Sure Floyd has beaten bigger opponents, but they didn't have the skill that Robinson had. To ask him to take on a bigger fighter with comparible skill and more power is unfair. Mayweather has much better defense. The only thing P4P Robinson had over Floyd was power. If they were the same size, it would either be Floyd by decision or Robinson by KO.

Robinson was the better fighter....Floyd is probably better defensively though.
