Floyd Mayweather vs Ray Robinson is it even a contest??

Of course its a contest. Floyd is an excellent fighter, and a very tricky matchup for every welterweight. Ray would have his work cut out for him. But he would win a decision.

 

If it's not going to be a stamina contest, explain to me why you brought up the 15 rounds vs. 12 rounds. Explain that before we move on.

 

I think hes legacy will suffer for retiring so young with still so much good competition to face, that is if he stays retired after the Hatton fight. And if Hatton beats him, he'll be a foot note. But I definitley see your point.

Oscar was/is 34. Floyd was/is 30. Keep trying to powder your argument with lies.

 

I think the fight probably could go 15 rounds, but the problem for Floyd is, Ray is a proven 15 round fighter, and he fights at a very fast pace. At 147, Floyd's workrate over 12 rounds was nothing special, so it would be even worse over 15 rounds. Ray's workrate, speed and power would wear Floyd down, for either a late stoppage, or just a decision.

Show me an example of Floyd getting tired over 12 rounds, and you have a case. You need to understand that fighters in great shape who are comfortable in the ring are able to go more rounds without tiring. Hopkins is another example. Floyd would do 15 without an issue. He'd simply score more knockouts if fights went that long.

I said Ray has a proven record over 15 rounds at fighting at a HIGH workrate. Floyd fights at a rather LOW workrate over TWELVE rounds, therefore he would need to slow it down a little over 15. Hence, Ray's high workrate would be too much for Floyd over 15 rounds. Do you understand?

 

Yes? He did lie though, you'll at least admit that. He tried to make De La Hoya sound very old, as if Floyd is young. They are four years apart, that's a wash. Negligible.

 

How do you figure? He'd keep fighting at the pace he fights at for 15 rounds, or 20 if it was 20. Floyd fights the way he does not out of fear for his own conditioning, but because it's just a matter of how active his opponent is. If they try to go wild, he throws more punches to counter. Floyd wouldn't stop throwing punches because he had three more rounds to worry about.

 

When Oscar was 30 he was KOing the likes of Vargas. Big difference between that Oscar and the Oscar Floyd fought. :good

 

Even if he could stay at the same pace, which I guess he could... the point was that Ray's workrate is much higher than Floyds. He goes not stop for 15 rounds, on his toes, moving in throwing flurries, boxing from the outside, working on the inside. Non-stop. With arguably the best power at 147 ever, save for Hearns perhaps, handspeed second to none, a granite jaw and sublime skills... Ray would wear Floyd down.
