I would have liked to see Floyd fight Hatton after the Gatti fight. Who would have won? And if Floyd won, would he be considered a top 10 ATG at 140?
I think the fight would have been more competitive than their actual fight. (which was still pretty close for the first 6 plus rounds despite clearly prejudicial bias by the referee) But, beating Ricky Hatton in and of itself, does not automatically qualify a fighter for top ten anything.
PBF beats Hatton worse at 140 than he did at 147. PBF was faster and had better movement at 140 than he did at 147.
i guess their fight was competitive for a little while though in actuality i never once thought floyd wasn't in total control and just biding his time. i see no reason why this would be any different at 140. floyd easy.
I got a better one. Porter vs Hatton and the fight was in Britain where they allowed Ricky to fight his Grappling style? Floyd would’ve killed Hatton at 140.
His speed of both hand and foot at that weight was noticeably faster. He fought guys closer to his size at that weight guys at 147 were usually always bigger than him and because of that had more pop at 140. IMO 140 could have been his best weight if he stayed in the division longer. Gatti and Bruseles fights come to mind
Hatton beat Tszyu at 140 and then lost to Collazo at 147. He was a weight bully like Jeff Horn at 147. Put Jeff in at 154 and he's got nothing.
More competitive how? Floyd wouldn't have had to drain himself to make 140, and Hatton didn't have to drain himself that much to make 147.
Hatton was THERE when Floyd fought Gatti. He didn't look good after that fight, who would be after seeing the p4p king put on a performance like that? Cotto was also there and he looked sick to his stomach.
