Hatton never used the weight as an excuse in fact he said that he liked the fight being at 147 for one he didn't have to drain down and two he was going to weigh more than PBF at 147 on fight night anyway. Hatton used to weigh more than PBF on fight night at 140 than PBF did on fight night at 147.

I'm not a Floyd fan ...but he would have to have a very bad day at the office for hatton to beat him. My beef with the Hatton fight was...Cortez was more caring about Floyd than his Dad...Hatton was fighting harder with Cortez's own on the spot rules than Floyds boxing. ...Just to be fair & balanced though...This can be leveled @ hatton on the Kosta fight, would he have gotton away with all the mauling & holding anywhere else other than the UK...seriously doubt it...To me that was not one of the best hatton performances & being straight, lets be real hatton was really a domestic level fighter with a very large fan base that followed him every where , if not he would not have fought Floyd or Manny. He was completely out of his league & out boxed in both fights & a younger lighter Floyd would have seriously annihilated him like Manny did.

He had 3 fights total, against some fringe world fighters (sorry Gatti is a legend but he was never elite) he was noticeably slower than when he was at 135 IMO.

Also how many guys were bigger than him at 147 ? I hear this myth spouted a lot but he was never noticeably smaller than 90% of the people he fought.

That’s a great fight (ugly really). Either way, I’ll take Porter by TKO on cuts.

Floyd MAGA Money Mayweather was a F'ing leopard at 140!

Lighting fast, great movement, sharp as a razor. The Floyd who fought Gatti was his truest prime and talented self. Hatton catches a hellacious beating from that man. Hellacious!

Hatton was known for his heart, not his skill.

I can't name another fighter which got that far, with such little skill.

    And that isn't an insult......

When you consider where Hatton started compared to Floyd, it's astounding he got to that level.

Come on there was not a lot in it, we not talking Pac Marg levels of size difference.

Floyd rarely gave up reach, height and tbh even weight at 147
