    At 135 and 147.
Well recently i was insulted by certain cartoon because i picked floyd mayweather to beat Roberto Duran by decision ,i feel curiosity about your opinions on this fantasy fight, even if you pick Duran,do you think that it is "a crazy opinion" picking floyd to outpoint Duran? I don't understand that hatred for floyd,he is arrogant but he is very very good .thanks

Duran has all the tools to beat floyd, but Floyd can decision anybody who doesn't have impeccable foot work and a reach advantage. I think Duran would try to bull him into the ropes to work and end up hitting nothing but forearm and shoulder. Where Duran would do better is using his jab to bait the pull counter before slipping and countering back.

I think he beats the younger more agressive 135lb version of Floyd but the craftier more calculating version of a 147lb Floyd probably beats him.

Thanks for the answer, good points, and i agree that the 147 pounder floyd beats him, maybe in boring fashion, but still wins

Duran is the greatest in fighter p4p. Once he gets on the inside its over for Floyd. Knockout.

I lean toward Duran, because I think he could outscore Mayweather by mauling him and keeping him under pressure, but picking Mayweather to outpoint him isn't crazy at all, especially not at 147 or higher, where Duran had lost a bit of his speed and would be easier for Mayweather to time and avoid.

Duran certainly beats Mayweather. Mayweather shuts down under pressure, is hyper reactive to feints which will back him to the ropes, and Duran knows how to cut the ring off and maul you on the inside. Duran's inside work will shine by the ropes.

Mayweather is not very good on the inside, and even in his younger prime days, he still lacked the fighting 'instinct', he couldn't brawl very well. Leonard beat Duran in No Mas on the basis of this fusion, with outpointing.

I agree with this post, I think Duran's use of feints would be a key component of him winning. That said, it's certainly possible Mayweather could win by decision, if the best version of Duran never showed up.

The best version of Duran would always show up against Mayweather. Duran would hate him and all he stands for and would never allow Mayweather to beat him at any weight. Mayweather's putrid personality would rile up the Animal in Duran even worse than Leonard did. Duran would show Mayweather a special type of contempt and would thoroughly beat the **** out of him.

You're fantasizing and externalizing your own personal feelings about Mayweather here! "putrid personality!" :rofl What in the world makes you think Duran would have share your deep-seated hostility?

I think Duran is all wrong for Floyd.

Floyd had problems with a much cruder pressure fighter in Maidana. Duran is not only a skilled pressure fighter but loves to go to the body as well. He turned Davey Moore into jelly with his ferocious bodywork and slowed his movement to a crawl.

Unlike guys like Leonard who were movers, Floyd is the definition of a featherfist. Duran would show contempt for his blows and move right though them. He needs to have some sort of tool to gain the respect of Duran and he doesn't have it.

I envisage a fight between these two as possibly starting off fairly favourably for Floyd as he does his stick and move thing. But as the rounds wear on, Roberto's body blows will inevitably start to take their toll, slowing him down, and the last rounds will be brutal for Mayweather.

Frankly I don't see Floyd having much chance against ay of the Fab 4. Hagler is probably his most favourable matchup, which pretty much tells you he is up shyte creek without a paddle.

Considering that Duran went 1-7 against great fighters at 147 and up, the only logical conclusion is that Floyd wouldn't be number two.

It would be competitive at 135.

It's funny how no one did that in 49 fights, and Floyd fought plenty with better power than Duran.

The straight dope is Mayweather has a shutdown defense with his reflexes and his feet, then he builds upon a miss with a stinging counter right hand. Something funny happens to fighters after they get hit with them. The become more safety oriented.

The math on what happens to a fighters accuracy when he faces Mayweather compared to the fighters normal accuracy is astounding.

Mayweather has about 6" in reach to use and knows not to get stuck in the corners or on the ropes. I think he takes a decision here at 135 or 147, though it would not be an easy fight.

Duran is light years above Maidana and Castillo. Like I said he's the greatest in fighter p4p. Maybe you haven't watched Duran enough to be familiar with his inside fighting but he's untouchable as well as destructive on the inside. Blows Mayweather out of the water.

Mayweather doesn't have the power to keep Duran honest. Duran walks right through him.
