That's an old excuse. Duran is mentioned as one of the top 10 or 15 all time greats. Are we to believe that a bigger ring was all Leonard needed to make him quit? Not buying it.
lol with threads like these you seperate the real from the nuthuggers.duran beats mayweather any weight
All those that support mayweather are dumbasses. Duran is one of the all time greats. He was able to defeat Leonard in fight Which is rewarded as one of the greatests of all fights. How can mayweather even be compared to him? He was an amazing in fighters, he was a Swarmer and proved againts haggler that he could box aswell. And that's without mentioning his punching power. He wasn't called the hands of stone for no reason. Duran by KO.
I really am unsure about this, even though I'm a big fan of Cholo which usually leads to one conclusion. However I have this nagging feeling that Floyd just might make this closer than many think.I could see Duran starting off great, feigning his way in and going to the body in a way Floyd has never come close to experiencing.I think his head movement would have a big impact on Floyd's early accuracy and Floyd would struggle to get set.People bang on about Duran being a tough brawler but there is so much more finesse and skill than most choose to remember(or have bothered to watch)He has a complete package and the way he can mix going upstairs and down with an inch to aim at was magnificent. BUT... I just can't help thinking that Floyd might begin to work it out(let's imagine the fight at 135 or 140) and if anyone has the defence to work out a nasty body puncher,it's Floyd. He can use that elbow like a bulletproof vest and he can throw beautiful short jabs whilst leaning the opposite way which could block Cholo's advancement inside. He's also no slouch on the inside himself, and people are finally realising that he can fight as dirty as anyone. He also has that ability to offer a target as a trap, and whilst Duran is as clever a boxer as there's ever been, frustration can be a big,big problem for him.I think Floyd could end up drawing him in and slipping away with a short jab for good measure.I wouldn't dare expect Cholo to fall for the check hook though. Will it be enough? I don't know, and there are posters who I respect like Bill who offer very good reasons why I could be badly wrong, but I just have a nagging feeling that Floyd could make this at least much closer than many think.
Really hoped there would be more technical analysis on this one. It's a mouthwatering prospect regardless of who you think would win.
i'm not even gunna front, i don't know enough about duran to make a fair unbiased judgement. i'll watch some more of him then offer my two cents some time.
Heres my whole Argument why Mayweather would lose to Duran Some can disagree if they like but the ones that do have not seen any footage of Duran'. Now this is a great breakdown. The clown that did this youtube breakdown of Floyd actually slowmows his so called landed shots when half them dont even land. And 90% of the Boxing community thought Castillo won how do you think Floyd is going to cope with a Prime Duran at 135. ****ing Please Floyds weakness's are Pressure fighters that cut off the ring and thats Duran. This is one of the worst/funniest posts I've read for a long time. So many wrongs on there it has to be a troll. It reads like a youtube comment from a casual fan. "Floyd's pretty much the best infighter ever" lol
Mayweather had a ton of trouble with Castillo and Marcos Maidana. Duran is 2 levels above those 2. Duran obviously wins this one.
