Duran beat the hell out of DeJesus (a fighter that would have DESTROYED Castillo) in 2 subsequent rematches. Duran, who started his professional career at 119 pounds, was hit or miss above 147 where he spent the end of his prime. He is arguably the greatest lightweight ever and when he left 147, was 72-2. Laing was a fluke and the Moore Duran would have destroyed him. He was pretty much done when he fought Sims. Sims was a middleweight anyway. Even though Mays definitely 2 levels above him p4p, how many middles did Floyd fight? I don't know why you even mentioned Sims. But hey, rock on buddy.

You Duran fans are full of excuses. He either didn't train or wasn't motivated or was shot but in his wins he's the best fighter in the history of the sport. It doesn't work like that. The fact is he lost to Laing a guy PBF would have absolutely tooled.

Considering what Duran did after 147, when he was past his prime, it's obvious you didn't pay attention to his career. This conversation is about the lightweight or welter Duran v Mayweather, not that fat, past it one above his prime weight. Or was Duran prime above 147 according to you?

So now Floyd is slicker than SRL and would force Duran to square up lol and now Duran's slow compared to Floyd lol

Floyd fights nothing like leonard and Pacman fights nothing like Duran so Wtf you doing talking about irrelevant ****?

    Troll.

Maybe not but he was still great and rated p4p. And you know that. He was still fighting at an elite level. Duran at 154 and above was TOTALLY hit or miss, as evidenced by his inconsistencies.

Laing was no joke when he trained properly like he did for Duran but it was far from an in shape/motivated Duran Laing faced. Laing was apparently very talented but was a total stoner. Rumours of him being completely baked sitting in the changing rooms before fights. The guy toked away his career.

and yes Floyd beats the Laing that beat Duran.

He wasn't prime his last prime fight was against JMM every since then there has been a decline. He was 36 when he fought Maidana.

The problem is this is an on going thing with Duran is he in shape or not is he motivated or not? Toney another guy who had these same issues doesn't get the same passes that Duran gets for not being in shape. Being in shape is one of the most important things in boxing. It's a knock on Duran's greatness and it can't be just excused. Just like guys who are always in shape get praised for it. Being out of shape is a negative just like not being able to cut off the ring is for example.

This is true! As Duran got fatter, he became far more inconsistent. Although this started in the 2nd Leonard fight which was his last at 147, and just after when he moved up.

But he was still great. Duran above 147 was not. He was too inconsistent.

But does he beat the Duran that beat Moore or Barkley? See what I'm saying about being inconsistent at or above 154? Totally hit or miss. Just for the record, being stoned is even a worse excuse than being out of shape or unmotivated.

No one praises Duran for not being in shape and Toney doesn't get the same passes as Duran because he was also a drug cheat.

I agree with all your points and Nope Laing does not beat the Duran who beat Davie Moore that was a totally different animal but styles makes fights and Davie Moore and the likes of Barkley had styles that played right into Duran's hands. Laing knew not to fight like that against Duran so I have to give him a lot of credit for that. It wouldn't have been enough against the Duran who showed up vs Moore though.

Before Toney ever got busted for PEDs and moved up to HW he never got the same passes. He was laughed at for being fat and out of shape. Save that for someone who doesn't know any better because I do.
