Why? Duran is a proven quitter. If SRL could make him quit I would think Floyd could also.

Duran KO's Floyd under 8 rounds. Floyd wouldn't know what to do with him.

:patsch , No its certainly not 100% certain that duran stops him, duran didn't stop fighters like saoul mamby or javier muniz so what guarentees he could stop PBF, the only fighter on floyd level or close to his level that duran stopped was de jesus and buchanan(and that was with a low blow), while mayweather has top 5 too 10 atg defence and a chin that has never ever looked less than strong, duran could stop him no doubt about it but it certainly not definite

Anyway i would fancy duran by ud, he is a difficult style for mayweather, fast and accurate he would be all over mayweather like a rash and would give him notime to breath, floyd would land good shots and would win rounds but he does not have the workrate at 140 to decision duran, so duran pretty comfortable ud in my opinion

Duran UD about 9-3, a TKO in the middle/late rounds is also a possibility.

Duran by way of PBF retiring before the fight gets made.
Once Duran would "make his name big enough" PBF would say the fire is not in him anymore and that he wants to retire from boxing not have boxing retire him.

Terrible style match up for Floyd.... Duran by KO or clear UD.

Duran would be too strong a puncher & too relentless for Floyd to stick & move for a whole fight, Duran at or near his best wasnt there to be hit either as his defence was very good so its not even as if Floyd could build confidence by continually landing his usual clean shots.

Duran defo wins this one for me as this fight would be at 140 & that means this would be the Duran in between the 3rd Dejesus fight (last title fight at 135) & SRL I (1st title fight at 147) from 1979/80, no way Floyd beats that Duran, not in my belief system anyway.

130 was Floyd's best weight. Floyd accomplished less and fought lesser opposition at 140 than any other weight. How the hell can you claim it as his best? Because he beat Gatti?

Duran by clear Decision, late stoppage over 15. Just a superior fighter to Floyd at his best.
