I doubt that he'll have much success with his OH right. His looping left will probably produce more frequent results. Most of the pressure fighters that Floyd has fought have given him more problems than those who allow him to patiently pick his spots. Jesus Chavez had a masterful gameplan vs Floyd, his chin just wasn't good enough to pull it off. That's why it would have been nice to see Floyd vs an iron chinned pressure fighter. Furthermore, you're not going to see Provodnikov too frustrated or looking amateurish, he'd likely get to fight Floyd at the distance that he prefers for as long as it last.
Jesus Chavez really didn't have anything he brought uneducated pressure and ate so many clean counters, uppercuts and his head snapped back so much that I actually feared for his safety. PBF loves pressure fighters uneducated especially the uneducated type like Chavez brought. They just make too many mistakes giving him too many opportunities and leave themselves wide open and can really only fight one way. What he has more trouble with is educated pressure working behind a jab head movement subtle defense cutting the ring and getting on the inside to get to the body. JLC for example, Provo doesn't have that ability. PBF could easily dictate distance against Provo and keep the fight on the outside where he would have no chance. Where you would see him frustrated and clowned.
Real story pbf beat the **** outta Jesus Chavez. He took way too many clean shots that's why his corner stopped it:deal
As I stated earlier. Chavez came in with a game plan that he was able to employ the whole time. Would you agree that he was able to fight his fight?
He fought his fight only because pbf didn't respect him knew he couldn't hurt him abd knew any time he turned it up he could land at will and take control. He toyed with Chavez in that fight. A better example would've been Augustus.
OK, so we're in agreement that Chavez was allowed to fight his fight for the entire fight. He gave Mayweather absolutely no space whatsoever, in fact Mayweather spent over 50% of the bout fighting off of the ropes. Yet you're somehow convinced that it was Mayweather who dictated the terms of what distance the fight would take place at as opposed to him just finding a way to beat him at his own game. History has shown us that Mayweather can be bullied into the ropes, it has also shown us that he's one of a few boxers that are able to win from this position. Your statements are contradicting no less, you don't think Provodnikov could make Mayweather fight on the inside for a great portion of the fight... but if he does its because Mayweather wanted to toy with him. And what would Augustus be a good example of? Most of that fight took place at mid range and he got his ass beat, that fight is over hyped mainly because Floyd said it was tough for him even though he won every round.
A come forward, orthodox fighter whose main weapon is the overhand right? Mayweather would reduce him to what he once was, a sparring partner.
Pbf fought Chavez like that because he didn't respect his power and knew he couldn't hurt him he toyed with him. Against Provo he wouldn't do that because unlike Chavez Provo could actually hurt him. He would stay on the outside beat Provo to the punch and be gone. Pbf likes to go to the ropes hes arguably the best in the world at fighting there. He likes to set traps while there for one he likes to let his opponents expend energy and two he likes to mentally fcuck people like Ortiz for example when they go all out and hit nothing of note. It his way of showing guys that they're not on his level. Lastly pbf wouldn't spend that much time on the ropes in this fight. The fight would take place for the most part in the middle of the ring. A place where Provo doesn't want to fight pbf at.
Ruslan would not be afraid of Floyd at all. I think Mayweather would be fighting a different animal altogether. It will never happen. Floyd ain't fighting this guy.
Its amazing that even at the tender age of 24 Mayweather was this defensive genius who toyed with opponents and fought off the ropes only because he chose to. He'd already mastered the art of setting traps and mentally fcucking opposition.
Yet if he fought him and shut him out you'd be the first one saying he didn't prove anything. Everyone is a threat until pbf gets in the ring with them.
