:goodyea, i agree. i think floyd's pretty strong complete fighter, but i don't know how he'd react with someone who matches him in every category plus with more ko pop than himself. but a SRL unanimous decision over floyd sounds right

It is interesting reading this material considering I saw Leonard when he won the Olympics and through his early years. I have also watched PBF. People try to judge a match between people on the skills they have seen. The greater determination of who would win is more prevelent in other less discussed issues: who is hungrier and who does their homework about their opponent. Both these guys are talented. Both study their opponents. However, SRL fought more battles and used his ability to adjust to his opponent prior to the fight. PBF adjusts to his opponent throughout the fight, he has this way of changing the tempo of the fight to his tide (i.e. Judah).
Leonard would likely win a matchup based on the fact that he would throw more punches. Leonard is considerably bigger than pBF so there it is very unlikely PBF would knock him out. So I would give Leonard the nod like I say no one will beat Calzaghe unless they knock him out - he just plainly throws more punches.
Plus, remember SRL faced Floyd senior who, although probably not as talented as junior, executed a lot of what Junior learned against Leonard and SRL was able to handle it well.
Styles make fights!! A fighter is as good as his competition...

I like Leonard by KO. People tend to forget how Ray could dig down to the body. He`d hurt PBF downstairs, take his legs away and finish him. That weak shoulder roll defense wouldn`t stop a prime SRL. While I`m at it, what do you think Herans would do to PBF????? Thats a fight that wouldn``t have been legal... Hearns by murder...

Leonard, Hearns, all these guys are a level above Mayweather

I disagree. Leonard is a natural ww but Mayweather is a natural sfw. Leonard beat Hearns, Benitez and Duran at ww, Mayweather beat Baldomir, Judah and Hatton.

    This would be annihilation.

Leonard is bigger, stronger, faster and a natural welter. He throws better combinations and has a superior workrate. He's also fought at a far higher level than Floyd.

I would be shocked if Mayweather could beat Leonard.

Ray has a slight edge in speed, a massive edge in power, is naturally the bigger man, has at least as much boxing skills, throws more effective combinations, has beat the better fighters, has an equal or stronger will-to-win in tough fights, is a better brawler & is no less than even when it comes to foot movement.

Leonard by UD or TKO late on.

Mayweather wouldnt be able to hurt Leonard, this fight would be Leonard`s to throw away or win comfortably.

This fight would never happen because mayweather would make excuses to avoid the sure KO he would receive from Sugar Ray Leonard.

Especially considering he's talkin **** to an old ass Leonard who doesn't fight anymore.

****, Floyd didn't want any of Margarito, and while he would make a fight for anybody, Leonard would have won a wide decision and wouldn't have been running the entire time, like I presume Mayweather would be.

Besides, Leonard beat Tommy Hearns and is one of the greatest welterweights of all time.

Tommy Hearns was an undefeated beast at the time, truly a nightmare for anyone, yet Sugar Ray overcame him and won.

Damn, look at what Sugar Ray did to Floyd's daddy and his shoulder roll. SRL would stop Mayweather.

Stop lying to yourselves if ya'll think otherwise. The guy won't even fight any of the welterweights right now, and I don't see anything SPECIAL in any of them.

agree on this. plus, srl would match pbf or exceed him in the showboating aspect. whirlwind left but hit you with the right sort of thing.

so i have to agree with this 100%
