Tate was actually a very good fighter, and favored coming in against Nunn. Nunn absolutely and completed dismantled him. It was more impressive than ANY performance in Norris' career.

Tate would have beaten Norris, as would have Roldan, Barkley, and Kalambay.

You're overrating Norris BIG TIME if you think he could have beaten Nunn.

I never said Norris would have beaten Nunn. I just think that he could have given him a good fight had he prepared well for a fight like that. Fight a few big MWs first, test the waters. Put the weight on right, don't just put on fat.

Tate was a good fighter, but he was slow (compared to fighters like Nunn, Hill, Norris, Taylor, even old versions of Leonard and Curry) and easy to hit for top fighters like Nunn and Hill x2.

Roldan was 137 years old when he fought Nunn in late '88 and I doubt he could have beat Norris that night... and maybe any other night. He had already been stopped by Hearns in the 4th round in '87, Hagler in the 10th round in '84, and a journeyman fighter in '79, KO8. Roldan stopped Frank Fletcher, James Kinchen, and a past prime Hugo Corro. His KD of Hagler was BS! He beat a lot of bums too.

Barkley? Barkley would look great one fight, like **** the next. Hard to say how he would do. Plenty of power. If he landed clean he would knock Norris out.

Kalambay? Very good boxer and he could handle Norris' punches. Norris was much faster though.

Like Hearns and posibly Meldrick Taylor, Norris is a bad match-up for Floyd. Mayweather is greater than Norris, but this is north of his best weight. Besides that, Norris' main weakness was his chin, something Floyd can't capitalize on.

Tough fight to call here, May is more slick better on defense, Norris more powerful and the bigger physically stronger man..
I think May and his mgmt would price themselves out of the fight, because they wouldn't. Want to risk losing, May is too paranoid and scared to face a guy who actually might win..
If it did happen, i think May would be on his bike all night playing defense and Norris would win on points..

One thing about Norris was that he was a ruthless fighter. If he got a man in trouble he went balls to the wall to put him out {except for RL who I believe he carried out of respect}. Otherwise he was vicious.

On the other hand Floyd has the finishing mentality of a sedated Golden Retriever.

Terry Norris has a very suspect chin...............and he is a "on top" fighter, if things do not go his way he has no plan B, his two DQ losses are further proof that he cannot keep his cool against a journeyman survival opponent.

FMJ will frustrate the hell out of him, guaranteed.

Noobs think Mayweather can't punch, lol, so how come in north of 40 fights nobody has never walked right thru him, lol, a sliding DHL got gun shy despite having a great chin....a old Mosley got gunshy real quick despite having still a great chin...........a prime young red headed Mex got gunshy despite having a great chin etc etc.

Norris chin would get tested , no doubt and if he starts chess playing with FMJ it is all over.

BTW, Mugabi, Norris, Curry etc were a joke when Norris got to them. A prime Hagler era Mugabi KO's Norris flat.

Regarding Norris and Nunn...I think that is a bad matchup for Terry. He generally made his name feasting on smaller name fighters that were past their best (he even tried to get a fight with the much smaller Chavez) and yet he never eyed out the middleweight division.

At 154 Norris was generally excellent, but in Nunn he'd be fighting a big, rangy middleweight with excellent speed and a decent amount of pop in his fists. For a brief while, Nunn was definitely the boss of the division.
I thought he looked laboured and disinterested against Barkely; he played the fool and allowed the much slower Barkley to get back into the fight. Nunn easily outclassed him, but fought a timid fight.
But at his best, Nunn for a while was a damn good fighter. I think Norris would be biting off more than he could chew against Nunn. But their primes were at slightly different times anyway, so it was unlikely to ever happen.

Floyd is a great fighter, no doubt. Norris is simply a terrible match up for his ... Terry was lightning fast and a murderous puncher ... he was bigger and much stronger ... Floyd has had a terrific run but he is also a brilliant match maker .. at 147 he does not beat Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Tito, Oscar or Mosley ... he is dominating an average division ..

One thing could beat Norris and that was power. Floyd has none of that, so you can be sure Floyd doesn't go anywhere near Norris. If they did fight, Norris would be too much for Floyd.

Canelo was supposed to be Floyd's biggest test. Compare Norris and Canelo. There is no comparison..

LOL, he buckled DLH so he is definetly buckling Norris who by definition has a subpar chin at best. So how many times has FMJ been down or Ko'ed in comparison to Norris ?

I repeat, Norris looked good against has beens , never weres but he is 50/50 when he stepped up and FMJ is a puzzle for ANYBODY in the history of the sport, win or loose

Crack cocaine is a terrible thing. I hope Tom Kaczmarek got some help.

BTW, if it's not obvious, that's a JOKE. But there's no excuse for scoring that fight for DeLaHoya.
