A tall guy with a good jab is all wrong for Floyd, IMO. A good jab nullifies speed. I think both Wright and Forrest would have beaten Floyd at 147 and 154. Pound for pound, i think Floyd is the better fighter by a distance for the record, i just think this particular brand of welter/light-middle is wrong for him.
I agree with this. Floyd is a better fighter in the pound for pound sense. But a big guy with a jab and some speed is all wrong for him. De La Hoya did well when he jabbed him, but lost his way late the fight. And De La Hoya's defense and strength is not what Wrights is.
Go back and re-watch the DLH fight with volume turned down and tell me where DLH was doing well with the jab. He was jabbing effectively for 1 or 2 rounds and those ended up Mayweather rounds. :deal
Winky by murder. Shane is a strong guy and had hell giving wright problems, floyd is wayyyyy too small to give winky any problems, winky would walk him down with that tight defense and keep that southpaw jab in his face all night. Not to mention that wright is also a good body puncher and a guy that can really take a punch. Floyd wouldnt stand a chance against an ATG light middleweight
i would think Floyd counters that jab a lot though...but still Winky is jsut solid man...Winky dont have a very high output himself....but still at 154 he's a fukkin headache in his prime.
