    Consistancy in opposition

    and

Consistancy in performance (this doesnt get ENOUGH credit)

Great boxers have looked less than stellar against lesser opponents and even have losses to them.....Floyd outside of Cas I has maintained a clear dominance in all his fights....with moving up in weight, being the smaller guy at times, comming off layoffs, drama in personal life...etc etc..all things most fighters tend to fall to or stumble with in the ring...he has not and i think that says alot because not many can maintain that level of dominance for this long with out slipping or getting a couple close calls.

If he beats Canelo it will be great for him legacy, not only is he a very solid opponent now but if he continues to progress and dominate the JMW and MW divisions in the future it will only make the win look even better.

I don't want to be critical, but Carlos Gerena was a top 10 SFW too.

He was ranked #9 by the Ring entering their fight.

...and I would advise anyone who hasn't seen it to watch the 1st round. Great stuff.

Have to agree, I think Matthysse is overrated - superb knockout power, no doubt but how will that translate to 147? Next, I didn't see anything special about his boxing, he looks for that huge punch but didn't see any real explosive offensive combinations - he's certainly no Pacquiao.

I think Floyd picks him apart also if he fights the wya he did against Guerrero - Matthysse simply is not the multi-dimensional offensive fighter you need to be to beat FLoyd. He has a puncher's chance, that's about it - you could see him getting that punch in, in a fight he'd be down on at the time but the smart money would be on Floyd in a wide UD

Matthysse v Garcia will tell us more - Peterson was really awful that night, it looked like he was looking to get knocked out

In his defense, Peterson always looks like he is trying to get KO'd in the first couple rounds of his big fights...
