I've got Mayweather by a fairly easy UD. He will pick Ortiz apart. Should get to see if Floyd is aging more, though, as Ortiz will pressure him. Poll above and leave your thoughts below. Though I wish Floyd would have accepted the Singapore offer to fight Pacquiao, I don't think that fight ever gets made. This is a decent second choice, at least for Floyd's fans.
Based on...? Last I heard, an agency's name was associated with the supposed offer. If the offer wasn't valid, I'd like to hear the explanation on that.
Mayweather just gave an explanation. One his associates was talking to a guy in Singapore who offered $65M for a multi fight deal(Mayweather had no knowledge of the talks at the time). The associate asked the guy to bring something to the table if he was serious and he didn't. It didn't matter anyway as Pac had already signed to fight Marquez. Don't you find it weird that Arum made no mention of this deal until after the Marquez fight was finalized?
Arum often makes mention of these crazy offers early in negotiations, but he himself has stated that these offers really don't ever get serious consideration. For him and Manny, it's basically Vegas or Dallas from here on out.
Mayweather, in a super fight that is actually intriguing, and legit imo. Oritz will have his moments (not that many though), but I expect Floyd to make a statement a probably get a Tko late. Let me also just say, props to Ortiz, and he deserves this big fight for giving the type of performance he gave in April. I don't give a **** about his past, the heart he showed in April made me change my view on him in a big way. Mayweather Tko11 Ortiz This content is protected
Ok, so the Floyd associate is saying the offer wasn't serious. I guess that's the kind of offer, then, like the $75 million one supposedly made for Pacquiao to fight Floyd? Hopefully more details about this supposed offer will come out, so we can get the full story. On both offers, actually. I do think it's odd that Arum made no mention of this until JMM was signed. They're (Pac side, Floyd side) all in a public relations war trying to one-up the other.
Totally agree and props to Ortiz for getting this payday. Honestly, a loss isn't going to really hurt his career at this point, IMO.
Good fight this. I hope Mayweather does well really because that will mean he is confident enough to fight Pac.
Exactly. A young guy like Ortiz has come back from a Maidana loss, and streaked then ended up getting a fight with Mayweather. So losing to Mayweather will be like a right of passage as he continues his career if anything. It shows he was good enough to get to the big stage win or lose.
floyd inside distance ortiz has no jab and is one dimensional he will run int ofloyd rights all night the only 2 times berto ever set and fired his right with conviction ortiz was down
