    This is a tight fight.

    Decision.

I think Benitez is busier in general, and I think as defensively adept, but in a different way.

    Its highly competitive fight.

    Benitez probably takes it.

This is a hard one to predict. I don't see any real flaws in either of teir games.
Mayweather has a better record in welterweight championship fights 4-0 than Benitez 2-1.
Mayweather has a better record in big fights than Benitez dose.
Mayweather has two inches in reach despite Benitez being two inches taller.
I think the deciding factor is going to be Bentiez's T-Rex arms.
Mayweather by decision 8-4 or 9-6.

Benitez would fight down to his level (as he did too often) and would win a far too close decision. As he showed against Leonard; Mayweather had heart.

Yes, but look at the difference in quality of opposition. It's huge.

Is there any doubt that Benitez would have fared at least as well in Mayweather's WW championship fights?

Now put Floyd in Benitez' WW championship fights... He's not doing any better.

I could imagine Mayweather winning this, but keep the opposition in perspective.

I think Mayweather takes a very close decision.

If Benitez is fully focused, then he does indeed take it. More busy,as you say,and his defensive gifts were easily as good as Mayweather's.

Pick em. Possible draw. I go with Mayweather slightly. A purists dream fight.

I'm going to say I'm a bit surprised the Classic got this many FMJ votes.

People will bring up Hearns and Leonard and say Mayweather isn't as good a WW, which is true, but he is better than Bruce Curry who had 2 close fights with Benitez and may have deserved 1 of the decisions. A close fight no doubt but Mayweather's stamina and speed are what's going to see him win more rounds

    Sr or Jr?

Benitez gets a good wide UD over Sr.
Jr has what it takes to get the UD over Benitez.

Is the gap between Mayweather's and Benitez's opposition really that huge?
Benitez's championship fights at 147: Carlos Palomino, Harold Weston and Sugar Ray Leonard.
Mayweather's championship fights at 147: Zab Judah, Carlos Baldomir, Ricky Hatton and Shane Mosley.
The De La Hoya fight for Mayweather and the Duran and Hearns fights for Benitez took place at 154.

I also think Benitez hit a little harder than PBF,i dont see Mayweather being able to hang in there with Hearns at any weight,Benitez did he even made the Hit Man miss a lot,I like Wilfred in this his superior output would see him to a UD.
