Mayweather and Arum of course ducked Wright and the fight never happened.

But let's say it did happen as planned in 2005. Who wins?

I say Wright wins clearly on points. Wright was in his prime, bigger, and had a style that would give Floyd fits.

In 2005 Floyd was fighting at 140 pounds so yes, I would say that a guy like Winky who fought the majority of his career at 154 would be favored over the much smaller fighter.

Saying Floyd ducked Winky Wright is downright stupid though and makes zero sense considering the gap in weightclass at that time. Folks don't realize that Floyd naturally walks around in the 140's and never really did huge weight cuts for fights. Winky is a much larger guy that walk around in 190's in between fights.

Highlight of Mayweather's career for me, calling out Winky then sh*tting himself and disappearing for a month when Winky accepted the challenge...

    In 05 Winky wins.

Mayweather called him out and then backed down when talks got serious.

    That's a duck.

Not a duck. If I remember correctly he was trying to get Wright to agree to him not putting on anymore than eight pounds the day of fight. Seemed pretty reasonable since Floyd was moving up two full weight classes to fight him. Again, Winky was a MUCH bigger man. Floyd started his career at super featherweight. When I met him at an amateur tournament in the early 90's he was tiny.

    Wright agreed to Mayweather's demands.

"The details were hammered out: the bout would be at 154lbs but weigh-ins would be the morning of the bout rather than the day before and Wright would not be allowed to gain more than eight pounds between weighing in and the start of the contest. But Mayweather and Bob Arum suddenly pulled out, demanding changes to the purse-split and other such things until the bout was dead in the water."

Wow! What a ducker and coward. I can't believe anyone would give him credit for anything he accomplished after such a cowardly move.

But Floyd didn't have a problem dragging JMM up 2 or 3 weight classes to fight now did he. And Floyd didn't even bother to make the weight. It was always Floyds way or the highway

He didn't drag anyone up to fight him. It's the fighters decision to take the fight or not. It's clear you don't like Floyd for whatever reason which you are definitely not alone. Plenty of folks don't want to give him credit for anything and that's fine. I personally am not a huge fan of his but I recognize that he was a great fighter and more than proved himself as a champion. It seems like a lot of folks that don't like him because his personality or possibly his outspokenness but there is no doubt he is an ATG.

There is nothing that I said in my post that I am not giving him credit for anything. You have a double standard mentioning weight in fights and I am just calling you out on it. He did drag him up with a contractual catch weight that he did not make the weight for. JMM, after the Floyd fight went back down to 130 pounds, He was a 130 pound fighter. Floyd was WAY to big for him as your point was with Winky that Floyd did not want to be the smaller man in the fight weight wise.
