Floyd can do 800k buys with any elite fighter ... he can do 500k with any bum ... I doubt that he can't produce big numbers ... he has two of the biggest PPV events in the history of PPV boxing.

This man is a draw ... rather it be his fans, haters, casual fans, media, or people who just want to see if he still has ... people who want to see him lose ... people who want to see him get knocked out.

    Mosley poses a threat ... he's athletic ... strong ... fast ... and experienced --

I'm not saying that he will win, but he would bring some anticipation to the event.

You are dealing with Arum. He wants damn near the same cut the fighters get. The money Floyd is asking for is unreasonable and obviously he is not going to fight b/c he turned down about 15-20 for ODH second fight. So he is ****ing retired. I guarantee he has no intentions on coming back.

I agree. But i just think that Hatton in the Uk makes the most money compared to anyone. And if he beats pacman its only going to aid hattons case.

the difference is that fights in the US reach a lot more people.

and marketing boxing doesn't begin with the main event - it begins with the groundwork (and hardwork) that a fighter brings.

the main reason why a class fighter in britain still won't get his dues or the pulling power to fight his US contemporaries is that he won't have the PPV pull and international fanbase and notoriety that can make him a genuine threat to fighters who have made their name on a bigger stage.

build a fighter up in the US - and it doesnt matter where he is from - and he'll always have a healthy advantage over a fighter who isn't.

promoters who don't operate out of the US and who land a 'golden goose' are (mostly) afraid to risk their boy because it's much easier to play a numbers game, gain a 'world title' and stay 'undefeated' - the two labels in boxing which make it easy for promoters to dictate to and manipulate the public.

I agree, but in this case hatton is an exception. He has more fans than anybody out there. Add that to the many people who like watching floyd, and the many people who want to see him beat.

Cotto can make a huge event ... Pacquiao can make a huge event ...
this guy has paid his dues ... he's accomplished alot and for that, if he chooses to come back he should be appreciated and compensated.

In other words, he doesn't want to fight. This is called "pricing one's self out of fights..."

IMO give Pfloyd 12m guaranteed plus a substantial percentage in ppv and gate.
thatl give him about 20m, but 20m is to high

    360K vs. Baldomir? :patsch

It's obvious Floyd needs a big name across to help generate those types of buys. If it wasn't for DLH or Hatton, doubtful he'd be getting even close to 10 mill to fight.

    yes you're right.

i said boxing doesn't begin with the main event but hatton is one of the few british fighters in recent time who has chased his dream, taken his chance in the US, EARNED the castillo fight after two meaningful fights in the US and that's the only reason he got the floyd fight.

it wasn't "luck" that hatton got his shot at glory - he legitimitely chased it and dumped warren because he saw him for what he was.

hatton isn't an "exception" though, not in the way you mean it, he's a poster child for any genuine british fighter who wants to find out exactly how good they are.

And yet ironically he made more money than PBF did in his own PPV's :think:smooch

The only reason people watch a Floyd fight is the hope that someone puts his ass on the canvas...

Lance he got 8.3 million to fight Carlos! Mosley is a way bigger name so I think he's a bigger draw and the fight would do more money than Baldomir-Mayweather..IMO Mosley-Mayweather could get made....20 million to fight Mosley is a bit much to ask..12-15 million isnt IMO!
