Ali fought much better fighters and in this era with so many titles Floyd was never undisputed champ at any weight and only unified two titles WBA and WBC otherwise never even attempted to (he did win the IBF but believe vacated it very quickly). When you see young guys like Usyk are already undisputed its makes Floyds title reigns look even worse.

I do believe Floyd Mayweather should rank higher pound for pound, than Ali, however to suggest he was a better champion and representation/ambassador for boxing is nothing short of ludicrous.

Muhammad Ali is the greatest ever man in boxing

Don't have a link but I remember Hatton saying it during the build up to their fight.

Interesting? Most have Ali in the 5-10 range of ATG (not HW), while very few credible ratings see Floyd in the top 15. I have Ali 9-11 and Floyd just outside the top 20...

Ali the greatest man??? Depends on your criteria for human decency, but that is a debate for another thread lol

Mayweather understood the business aspects of boxing better.
Mayweather understood the tatics to go into the bout with a decided edge over your opponent- gloves, catch weight, age etc
But Mayweather is not in the same league as Ali as a champion. Ones a legend WoRLDWIDE ones not .

Both just my own opinions, I know the first one is not popular. Floyd is down played because of who he is and the time he fought in. As time goes on his stock will grow, I expect him to eventually hit a large % of top 10's.

They're both top 10 for me, but Floyd higher.

Ali was surely the greatest man, in my opinion. I won't go into reasoning because it's for another thread as you say. However, this is just an opinion and is very subjective

Mayweather was by far the more consummate professional and it's not even close.

I beg to differ .Ali fought the best available name competition when those names were Prime.
