Hatton haters always go on about Hatton fans being clueless, the irony being that the likes of Healy, Betty Swollocks, Kurt and FatJoe are some of the most clueless posters here and they only need to be taken into shallow waters in an argument and they drowned themselves.

This thread proves people do not understand weights.

If somebody could please tell me what the difference is between Ricky Hatton at 140lbs and Ricky Hatton at 147lbs I'd be amused to hear.

You do not understand **** about weight clown ass MOFO. When Hatton weighs in at 140lbs he puts on a ton overnight. At 147 he wouldn't put on much at all. On fight night the weights would not be far apart at all.

Onourway - of course his opponent is a bit stronger. I would never deny this obvious fact. What I've always said is it isn't a problem if you aren't a limited wrestler.

    It is a problem though.

Roach is happy to let Pac fight Hatton or Mayweather.

But he won't let him fight Margarito, citing 'we know our limitations'

But there's only 7 pounds between Hatton and Margarito.....and 0 pounds between Mayweather and Margarito.....so why?

    Ergo he's a 140 fighter at 147.

You are so far wrong on this it's laughable.

Congrats on a terrible point. Manny Pacquiao is the best example of being able to transition weights today. Probably one of the best in history infact.

He started at flyweight and has fought as far as welterweight. Not exactly fighting one weight above where he started and struggling against a top 10 fighter.

I would never say losing to the best fighter one division up is a disgrace anyway. Struggling against an average guy and then whining about the weight forever more just because you can't bully him does however prove you are unskilled.

Your a muppet, i said Hatton never step u a weight and you say he did twice, meaning you really drowned me mate

No, me saying Hatton never stepped up a weight means he never did it with success....which he didnt

But you're saying size is no problem.

    So out of 4 fighters:

    ODLH
    Mayweather
    Hatton
    Margarito

Why don't they want Pac to fight Margo? He's the least skilled.....so why not, couldn't be size could it, no way....

So we're meant to guess what you actually mean now? Or are you backtracking? I know which I'd bet on.

Oh and he won a belt in one fight at 147 and lost to the best fighter of his generation in the other.

    :-(

Weight is a problem in extreme examples. I'm not saying Calderon can beat Calzaghe just because he's more skilled.

We're talking about 7lbs here from ones "natural weight" - the soundbyte he usually comes out with. 7lbs for a p4p fighter at the time against a B- grade guy? It shouldn't have been a problem. But like I always maintained, Ricky Hatton barely has 1oz of skill in his body and it showed up. The problem for you is you can never disprove me - you only have to watch the video.

Ricky Hatton can not even perform well against a very mundane opponent when Plan A is not an option.

This snobbery about 'skills' is a bit stupid to be honest.

Many great fighters relied on physicality, it always has and always will be an integral part of the sport. Hatton is blessed in that department.

His size and style mean he can't move up and be as effective, So what. He's not the first and won't be the last.

Results matter, and in his weight class he is unbeaten.
