It's not snobbery at all. I can't think of many great fighters that were near exclusively about physicality. Or more specifically strength. Manny Pacquiao is more physically gifted than technically, but he's come up trumps at any weight so far. Be sure to point a few of these greats out to me. Or maybe somebody can tell me why Pacquiao has managed to win titles at god knows how many weights. Or Hoya. Mosley. Mayweather. James Toney, great example. Hell...anybody you want to think about. Tell me why they managed to remain impressive and why Hatton can't. He's a very good fighter, maybe the best at 140lb today although I'd like to see him continue proving that title. Very good, thats it.
Second guess what you what, truth is Collazo probably beat him and Mayweather introduced him to the ringpost So make an arguement that he went up 7 lbs and was successful now why dont you? No, doesnt have the ability to do that
The guys you mention grew into the bigger weights. If people moved up and down weights your claims would have some substance but they almost exclusively move up as they physically mature. They grow into the weight. It's pretty rare that they jump up, don't add any weight, and still succeed isn't it? Bottom line is weights matter, it's as plain as day, and I've no ****ing idea why you are arguing otherwise. It's stupid.
I remembr many many people scored it for Collazo.. If you were asked that night 'which fighter is trying to break America' and knew nothing about the background the majority of people would have said Collazo Not quite Sturm-Oscar but still a decision that had future money fights planned, pending on its result
