Floyd Mayweather would have beat all the welterweights of the 80's except for Hearnsl

I don't even think Floyd has the ability to stop Lamotta if Lamotta lets him. We're talking hardest chin in the game. Can't believe someone would even put that together.

The author is right in one sense, and that is that Hearns 100% beats Floyd. Whether Floyd manages to avoid a KO I'm not sure but Hearns could outbox him also.

I'm also exceptionally confident that Leonard beats him. To me, SRL was just slightly better than Floyd and by far the naturally bigger man. Leonard could possibly stop Floyd but I'm pretty confident he beats him none the less.

A prime Duran is not good for Floyd, but he was out of shape so much in the 80's that if he doesn't prepare correctly Floyd could most definitely win. I certainly wouldn't rule him out here.

Benitez is interesting. Fascinating to see PBF against a fighter that's harder to hit than him. I see Floyd taking a very very close decision in a technically brilliant fight with minimal amounts of action.

The Pryor fight is one I'd love to see (don't we say that about all Prior fights??). Watching Castillo 1 you wonder how Floyd can deal with Pryor, but Floyd also poses stylistic problems for Pryor as well. We never really got to see Pryor against a fighter of Floyd ilk or elusiveness. I'd tentatively pick Floyd, but again, not one to bet on.

I'd have Floyd beating the likes of Cuevas, Palomino and old man Cervantes though without too much trouble.

I'd also definitely pick him against the Arguello of the Pryor 1 fight, which some may be surprised at. Arguello has great timing and that can certainly counter speed, but I juts don't see Floyd having as much trouble with a technician (far removed from his prime weight) as I do other styles.
