    Read what I wrote:
10-15 pounds below the weight they fought at
It's not like LaMotta wasn't coming in as a light-heavyweight for his middleweight bouts.
I'd expect LaMotta to get knocked out by Fox regardless of whether it was a fixed fight or not. He got knocked out two other times by men of the same natural weight as himself (light heavyweights). In 4 fights where he faced top guys of the same natural weight, he got stopped three times.

Look, castillo weighed in 153 for 135 bouts, thats a little over dont you think?
Castillo has also been stopped at 135 four times,140 once and looked crap at his other 140 fight.....what was castillos best win? Corrrales?
    La mottas was robinson.....NEXT......
ps; the way you guys talk we dont need weight classes anyway, floyd would beat world class middles anyway hey?

LaMotta's win over Robinson took place with what weight difference? Robinson was obviously the same weight in the ring as at the weigh-in, 145. LaMotta most probably weighed no less than 165 come fight time. Super middleweight (who's naturally a light heavyweight for that matter) facing a guy who less than 2 years earlier was fighting as a lightweight, and even at the time of the fight is a mere welterweight. And he still lost 4 other fights with the same welterweight. Did Castillo lose 4 fights to a guy who weighed some 15 pounds lower than himself at the weigh-in?

Moot point, castillo never fought anyone remotely like robinson....
Are you discounting the wins la motta had at middleweight and lt heavy,or do you conveniently ignore evidence that goes against your dogmatic views,as is always your wont....
No lightweight in history except for duran has ever won the middleweight title, surely you can learn something from history senya?
ps; you think lamotta was the only guy that added weight after the weigh in? You think none of his opponents at middle or lt heavy were comparable in size or even bigger than him? And you still think floyd can beat this guy who is 165 as you say? Robinson achieved many things at world level at 160 and was still a puncher at 160,floyd is no puncher even at 147 and will never achieve owt at 160.....

Castillo fought someone even more technically brilliant than Robinson, in Mayweather.
Which other quality light heavyweights (at the time of the fight) did I miss who LaMotta faced, besides Fox, Murphy and Nardico?

Technically speaking, Jack Dempsey won lightweight and middleweight titles. If you gonna argue that his lightweight title wasn't legit, I'll doubt that Duran's middleweight title was any more legit.

Go to LaMotta's record at boxrec and look up some of his opponents, see how many you can count who started as welterweights or fought most of their career at welterweight? While he himself started and felt best as a light heavyweight, which makes it 28 pounds difference between weight limits.

I dont care about technically brilliant, you regard jones as technically brilliant against tarver the second time even though he got knocked clean out......
Floyd has never even fought a genuine atg opponent senya,so hes unproven at the very top echelons of the sport, heck if he loses to hatton i want an apology senya......
So you found one other guy in boxing history who YOU claim won the lightweight and middle titles? That was the bloody point, there are hardly any in history who can do it,and those that did had some semblance of power at 160,mayweather has little pop at 147....
When mayweather has the balls to take on (never mind beat.) a 160 holder then tell me about his prowess against bigger men.....
Now senya,i want you to raid your favourite analytical tool (box rec.) and show me the stoppage defeats suffered by lamotta, and at what age/weight they were at......
we can by the same token say jones was very chinny as he was stopped by clean KO by mediocre fighters and even lost to one (griffin.) in his prime,or is this taking things out of their context senya? (hint,hint..)

LaMotta never faced anyone like Mayweather in technical brilliance. And he lost four times to 147-pounder inferior to Mayweather in technical skills, with power that didn't mean anything (LaMotta just ignored Robinson's punching power, power wasn't an issue here, nobody was going to be trying to knock LaMotta out, neither Robinson, nor would Mayweather), with similar handspeed and footspeed, but who's not as good a counter-puncher as Floyd and who can't fight off the ropes as well as Floyd.

So DLH is not a genuine atg fighter? I see.

Punching power is not all that is necessary to win a title at higher weights. Duran wasn't a hard puncher even at welterweight, even less so at middleweight. He won a title using his skills (and a bit of luck, by facing such unskillful titlist as Barkley).

Do you want to show me first the fights LaMotta had at earlier age against big super-middleweights or light heavyweights of some quality, to prove his chin against opponents of his own natural weight?

DLH at this stage of the game is not an ATG,and its doubtful if he was at any stage...He made a career of beating up smaller fighters and losing the big ones....
Floyd better than robinson? That is your unproven and rare opinion.
Duran had more power at welter than floyd by far.
Finally, you brought up la motta getting stopped by bigger fighters, now show us the circumstances and proof or i will assume you cant...

We can start a poll and see how many people here don't vote DLH an atg. What about Hagler or Monzon, according to your criteria they ain't atg's either?

Mayweather is better than Robinson at the aspects of the game I listed. He wasn't as technically sound as Floyd in general, and in particular at defense, at counter-punching and at fighting off the ropes (at last thing he looked very poor at times).

What Duran had at welter is irrelevant, the point was he wasn't a hard puncher at middleweight where he won that title vs Barkley. He used his skills and his smarts to win that fight. Exactly the same thing Robinson and Zivic used vs LaMotta and the same thing Floyd would have used vs LaMotta had they met. Talking about how Floyd is not a powerful puncher is irrelevant.

What you want a proof of? That Billy Fox, Bob Murphy and Danny Nardico were natural light heavyweights? I think it's pretty obvious.

Hagler and monzon are definately all time greats,de la hoya is debatable...
Your poll idea is ridiculous, lets have a poll on if floyd is better technically than robinson or if jones is technical at all....If we did you would lose big time on both....Or how about a poll to see if kessler has one of the greatest jabs of all time or if jones could beat prime ali? (two of your more eccentric proclamations.)
You chat **** and have no consistent logic senya....
Finally, fox, nardico and murphy, what were the circumstances and how old was la motta? (fox was fixed wasnt it?)
Or lets have a poll to see if its true lamotta got stopped as soon as he fought guys his own size and was less skilled than castillo and was really a boxing bafoon.....
You are hard work senya, your boxing IQ is ******ed,go join the general forum and worship jesus jones.....

Hagler and Monzon are not atg according to your above criteria.

So you agree that you gonna lose the poll about DLH not being an ATG?

If you have time, ok, grab some youtube url's of Robinson's best display of technical boxing and of Mayweather's best display of the same, so it is actual comparison of their skills, not the "who's greater" poll with uneducated newbies fooling around and replacing the original question with "Robinson beat these fighters, who did Floyd beat?" irrelevant bull****.

What were the circumstances? LaMotta finally faced several quality fighters of his own natural weight (light heavyweight), the only ones in his career, and lost 3 out of 4 of these fights by knockout. The oldest LaMotta had been in any of these fights is 31, at what age did other fighters with proven ATG chin's begin to lose three fights by stoppages if ever lost that many at all?

Hagler and monzon are true atgs as i said, hagler was not a big middle, monzon was,but so what?
You ask for a poll then backtrack?
Jones lost in his thirties twice by clean ko and hes god according to you,is he not an atg by that criteria?
Go on make a poll to see if la motta is not durable?
Senya, you are a waste of time as you have no common sense.....Go worship jones and watch his 'crucifixion' by tarver and johnson.....:hi: :rasta

So what? That's what I have to ask you, why did you choose that criteria for desiding who's an atg and who's not.

I mentioned a poll about whether DLH is an atg or not. You said it's ridiculous. Where did I backtrack?

What does Jones losing once by TKO stoppage and once by KO have to do with atg status? I'm talking about ATG chins here, when I'm talking about KO losses, did I ever claim Jones had an ATG chin?

I see no point to create a poll that is as abstract as that, especially with original point (ATG solid chin) replaced by another one (durability). The question of the poll would be "How many times had LaMotta faced quality light heavyweight opponents and how many times has he lost these fights by stoppages?" You can suggest possible options for the answer, if you really wish me to make a poll on the point I brought up (not to irrelevant points I didn't bring up and you invented on your own).
