Corrales was the only Mayweather fight I thought he had a legitimate chance of losing before the fight. People tend to forget how Chico was viewed at the time of the fight and now denigrate that win with the benefit of hindsight. The first Castillo win was also up there. Castillo was a monster in his prime and for Mayweather to get a win with a bad shoulder is quite an accomplishment.

Corrales, but it's possible Canelo may grow to become it like a Roy Jones over Hopkins

At the time that Corrales faced off with FLoyd, Corrales was universally recognized as a top 10 P4P fighter by all major media outlets, and he was the #5 rated P4P fighter by the Ring magazine. So you're incorrect there.

I'd say his best win was over Diego, Gatti, JMM or Alvarez.

is floyds smaller weight class days a bit overated , with him possibly losing to castillo, losing on the cards to chavez before he quit with exhaustion, getting in a tough fight with journeyman emanuel augustus. and only really beating corrales of much signifigance

    Alvarez a good win?
If Canelo fought Pacquiao in November at 152... he would lose 10/11 rounds.

His best wins were avoiding Margarito and Pacquaio to preserve his 0.

Oscar de la Hoya. He's the only one in the list, who provided a challenge to Mayweather, both in size and ability.

There are obvious drawbacks in this selection, e.g. his semi-retirement and generally accepted 'over-the-hill-ness'. Nonetheless, it was Floyd's first venture into the 154-zone and Oscar, even at half-speed, was a dangerous proposition. The Golden Boy almost had him, to boot.
