Pacquiao is a big problem for a lot of Mayweather's best wins. Pac beat Mosley, Hatton and Cotto worse than he did, so they're kind of taken off the table as candidates for Floyd's best win. How can his is best win be over a guy Manny beat better?

Mayweather's win over Hatton was a huge deal at the time, but after Pac clowned the guy off the stage in 2 rounds it became severely diminished in value.

How can anyone call Canelo a great win for Floyd?

1) Canelo was given all he could handle by Matthew Hatton! Let that sink in for a moment...

2) He had to come down in weight for the fight to go ahead.

It just isn't a great win in any respect.

 

Canelo is garbage. Lost to Trout and Lara, beaten up by Matty Hatton and Cotto's cousin or brother whoever he was.
It's hard to pick one, I can't go for ODLH cos ODLH beat him, I think shot to pieces Cotto is probably the best even though that was a draw.

 

Mayweather has a lot of A- level wins. He doesn't have that A+ signature win on par with Pacquiao-Barrera I, Marquez-Paquiao IV, Ali-Foreman, Duran-Leonard, Leonard-Duran, Hagler-Hearns, etc etc

 

Well the only A+ fighters in his era are arguably Pacman, Marquez and Hopkins (debatable.) Obviously Hopkins is way too big and FLoyd already dismantled Marquez a few years back.

He needs the Pacman fight under his resume to solidify him as one of the very best boxers ever. They're both a bit over the hill, but it's not like they're a shadow of their former selves. Pacman is still universally regarded as a top 3 P4P fighter and aside from his KO loss to JMM, he hasn't really lost to anyone in the past 10 years (I don't count Bradley's win over him as being legitimate.)

And FLoyd is obviously the #1 P4P fighter still. SO there's still a lot of substance to this superfight considering they're still both performing at a very elite level. I hope it comes off at some point next year.

 

You don't half talk some bollocks. So only a handful of atg's have ever moved up a weight class just to challenge 'bums'. So all the people PAC fought in higher weight classes were bums going by your own words and logic. You're an idiot.

 

In reality his best win was Hatton, but since it wasn't an opiton, I voted for JMM. Yes he completely embarrassed Chiico and Gotti (RIP), but they weren't great boxers, they were warriors with power and hearts like no other. Whereas with JMM, Floyd was coming off a layoff, JMM was coming off a spectcular win over Diaz, and he really is the most skilled fighter that Floyd has faced to date. Regardless of the size differeence, he completely schooled JMM with pure boxing intelligence. I think JMM landed 12% of his punches. This fight to me proved beyond a shadow of the doubt, that Floyd is the sports best technician in that ring.

 

Mayweather had a big size advantage over hatton and marquez, i cant rate them too highly, hatton struggled badly with collazo in the lead up to the fight too

 

In a way. But, Mayweather beat better versions of all of them.

 

Probably, Diego Corrales. I'm not sure he's looked as dominant since, except against Gatti. But, Gatti was not as good as Chico, Imo.

 

How can a tune up fight be a best win for a fighter. Tune up fights means , mismatches.
