My vote goes to Alvarez,,... Simply because he'd beat almost all of Mayweather's previous opponents H2H though the dela Hoya win was what really put him on top of boxing,,.. Its got to be one of the two :)

Hatton ballooned up to 165/170 between fights so he was naturally the bigger man (though Mayweather was slightly taller).

You got me on Collazo fight.

However, Floyd didn't use his sized against JMM, purely outclassed him. It was almost embarrasing, size had nothing to do with outcome.

Floyd and PAC have jumped more than 4 weight divisions each so you think all the people they beat above their natural weight class were bums? Because they beat most of them without much trouble. You said its difficult to beat 'bums' even 2 divisions above you. Considering floyd has beat fighters 5 divisions above him you must think he's amazing right? (PAC is unbelievable aswell before you get your knickers in a twist)

I'm just pointing out how ******ed your logic is. Either you're calling all of PAC and floyds opponents bums because they were naturally more than 2 weight divisions above, or you're giving them both credit for accomplishing the task. Can't have one thing for PAC and another for floyd.

Mayweather beat him pretty handily. The HBO crew was off their rocker, or just gave more credit to Chavez because he did better than expected, but most of the clean punching was done by Floyd.

Chavez showed a great workrate and landed some good bodyshots, but was eating lots of clean shots, particularly the right uppercut, and quietly taking a bad beating, which is why his corner stopped it.

Chavez did have some success with pressure, and made Floyd work harder than usual. It's a mild weakness for Floyd since he's resourceful and versatile, but it does highlight some of the issues Floyd has with pressure. Floyd usually hits opponents hard and clean enough to make them more cautious, and then he can fight at his tempo & pace.

Castillo, and Maidana gave Floyd problems with pressure and their ability to take his shots and keep coming. Chavez did less so since he just kept eating more clean shots. But it's way I pick against Floyd in mythical matchups against J.C. Chavez (mainly at 135) and Duran. He can allow himself to get outworked, often on the ropes. Some of his opponents didn't respect his power and kept applying pressure. And Castillo, Maidana and Jesus Chavez have considerably less defensive skills than J.C. Chavez & Duran.

Probably Corrales, but I think Hatton should at least be an option.

    To each its own.

However I will leave you with this, being taller doesnt make you bigger than an opponent, nor does the weight someone fights at.

Example, Chavez jr. walks around at 190 but fights at 160. Lets say he fought someone who was taller than him at 160 but that taller person only walks around @175. Who is bigger, regardless of the fight weight?

    I'll wait.....

His body was obviosuly thicker. I agree he was unhealthy betwene fights but he was a more heavier person than Floyd. Just like Cotto. Floyd is slightly taller, but Cotto is obviously bigger than Floyd. Again to each its own though.

    it;s called natural size.

weight is only one component of size.\

big or small pertains to size, light or heavy to weight.

if you gulp enough water you will weigh like a heavyweight, doesnt mean you have the size to fight the heavy weights.

here is flopjr's take on natural size:

"Maidana is hungry, he's ready and he has a great knockout ratio," said the brash American, who is nicknamed "Money" for his flamboyant and often extravagant lifestyle. "It's all about keeping composure and sticking to the game plan.
"We're going to take our time, go out there and if a guy leaves an opening on his face, we're going to take it, if he leaves an opening on his body we're going to take it.
"But we can't just say we're going to go in there and everything is going to go to the body. We're going to take our time and pick the guy apart. I'm naturally the bigger guy because I've been at 147 almost 10 years now."

if you bloat too much, youd feel sluggish from gaining the weight in so short of time, mostly water/fat. it;s hard to build muscle in short period of time.

if you drain too much, youd be a zombie, too weak to perform.

so it's a delicate balance finding your ideal weight.

Chicanito was giving both Oscar AND Floyd a hard time before getting stopped by both later in the fights, and that's because he was past his prime when he faced them. Aside from Castillo, I think the win even over a past his prime Chicanito is way better than the rest. Chicanito was such a great technical fighter.

1-1 vs JLC is Floyds career defining fights:deal:deal

0-3 vs Pacqioua will define his legacy.....hopefully he gets a gift in one so he can be 1-2 vs TBE.:thumbsup
