I think you're a little slow. They are all stand and trade fighters. Some are slicker about it. Their defense is entirely different than PBF's and so are their styles. Stand and trade vs runner are not styles...they are tactics.

PBF wasn't running against Baldomir. If they wanted them to not use foot movement, the ring would be smaller. PBF against Gatti still used the ring. He didn't use it as much because Gatti didn't have the ability to lay on PBF and make him tired.

The obvious point is this. What PBF does is not running. Spinks is a runner. He literally turns his back and doesn't counter. PBF moves out of range, then comes right back in. You don't acknowledge this. You make it seem as though PBF moving out of range is the same as what Spinks does and its not.

    It was gatti.

    Theres no argument

but his biggest win if you think about it are getting the two top fighters to turn down fights for basically not being on Mayweathers level.

stand and trade is Corrales and JLC - they are offense heavy fighters. . . .SHane/DLH/Toney/Taylor are boxers. . . they have a more even mix of offense and defense. . . whereas Spinks, Mallignagi, FMJ are defense heavy runners for the most part. . .granted Pauly and FMJ are not as bad as Spinks.

No, the abovie ALL stand and trade. They have different styles that allow them to stand in there and not get hit as much. Stand and trade is a tactic, not a style.

PBF's style adjusts based on who he is fighting. That is a smart thing to do.

No, its only a tactic. Williams and Margarito stand and trade. They have different ways of going about it. It is ALWAYS a tactic.

Stand in trade.think about it...its a tactic. Nobody says I am practicing my stand in trade style. Lol. Some fighters only hope of winning is standing and trading b/c they lack boxing skill. So you have to be dead in front of them for them to be successful. Floyd is just fast, he is in and out and you call it running but other fighters do it but they are just slow. Some fighters use the ring and pick spots Floyd some come str8 forward. Floyd brings the fight in the center of the ring where you will never see him run. If the other guy meets floyd there and proceeds to actually box instead of charging him trying to bully him to the ropes you will see floyd do his work IE gatti. Gatti met floyd in the middle of the ring and tried to box him. And that was the outcome. Baldomir charged at floyd like a madman after floyd proceeded to box his ass up in the middle of the ring as all fighters do. Same with ODH. He didnt even try to box floyd he put his guard up and charged in or jabbed to get floyd back against the ropes. Shane fights in the center of the ring and stands his ground more then floyd but also gets hit a lot. Cotto/Hatton etc etc do not go to the middle of the ring. They go at you and keep coming forward until your back is against the ropes then they let off the bombs.

There were plenty of people picking Gatti to win that fight. I heard more than one fan and analyst say that Floyd "couldn't hurt" Gatti (sound familiar?). Nobody was calling Gatti shot until he lost that fight. Floyd was the favorite, but he was favored to win a 12 round decision, not dismantle and destroy Gatti.
