So, to be honest, pbf is not THAT much bigger than pac. reach is something, but it's not that bad. not enough for anyone to say there is much of an advantage. so, let's get over this part of the matchup.
pac detroyed 2 fighters way worse than pbf did, i see this as an equal fight. pac is now proven better (cant' say he ain't), so here we are, i see no advantage to speak of.

    height
    pbf 5' 8
    pac 5' 6 1/2

    reach
    pbf 72'
    pac 67'

    1. Cotto's team wasn't ready when that fight was on the table.

    2. Mosley OPENLY, IN PUBLIC, turned Floyd down.

    3. Sure, Mosley is a tough test, but see Point 2.

I am not suggesting him fighting Cotto instead, that fight should've happened years ago. Styles makes fights and Cotto had the perfect combination of boxer-fighter to make the fight with Floyd a fight.

The fight with Pacquiao is a good boxing contest :), don't get me wrong, it needs to happen for all the marbles. But Mosley, Cotto, Margarito and Williams are fighters that have been left out because Floyd opted to retire instead and wait it out.

He waited it out and he's more comfortable fighting Pacquiao, thats all im saying.

he is fighting the bese ww in the world...he would school shane berto or cotto, pac is the toughest test and yes the most money...it is funny how everyone on here thinks pac fights for free....newsflash he is fighting for money too....hatton was about money...more than JMM3 and less risk...cotto was about money.....now he will make 40 mil so he is in the same boat just PBF admits it and will earn that money when he whips pacs ass

    1. Cotto actually has a very leaky defense and I feel Mayweather would tag him all night long en route to a decision. Cotto's a tough guy and would "be there" all night.

    2. This is a historic fight that HAS to happen. I don't think anyone should question this one.

    3. Mosley would be a tough fight, but as said before, he DECLINED to fight Floyd. Margarito would be the easiest fight in boxing for Floyd. Williams would be a challenge based on his physical attributes, but as we saw against Martinez, Quintana, etc. (the list goes on), he leans in and gives up his height, will get countered to death with Floyd. These are all fights I'd love to see, aside from Floyd vs. Rockgloves (since it would be lopsided and pointless, plus he's on suspension for cheating). All would make for excellent fights.

    4. No doubt he wants to fight Pacquiao. Makes history and money.

    Would've, should've but did not.

He retired instead of making those fights available for him.

Mosley is the harder fight for Floyd.

Marnoff, I see where you are coming from, and obviously this is the fight to put people in their seats, I am not arguing with anyone over the historical weight of this fight.

Theres a reason he got mouthy before DLH, he was concerned about that fight. He's really happy and comfortable with Pacquiao, thats why he's basically not saying anything, the fight has been built by the fans and the casual fans. All he needs to do is go to business and get that win, and he'll get his credit.

But don't expect him to fight Mosley.:D

If Mosley gets past Berto as I expect him to in dominant fashion, then I won't be surprised to see Floyd vs. Mosley, assuming Floyd beats Pacquiao as I expect him to. Mosley will obviously have to agree to concession in terms of the purse for the fight. It will be at LEAST 60/40 in Floyd's favour if that fight comes off and Floyd would have a right to demand that. I suspect Mosley would accept, also.

Just because Pacquiao crushed Cotto doesn't mean he's not small.

Gotta give it up to Mayweather though, he's cherry picking his way to the bank.

So you'd rather Floyd fight the loser of Pacquiao vs. Cotto? That would make more sense to you?

He's fighting Pac who is a great. But on paper everyone including his fans know what's going on. Mayweather is bigger and has the stylistic advantage. He cameback to take on JMM and Pac. Pac will give him lots of money. Hopefully it will blow up on his face and he gets his ass kicked. Tired of this dude belittling past greats like they are garbage and doing this and thinking he's the best ever.

I disagree, I think Pacquiao would easily beat Mosley. Mosley can't keep up with Pacquaios volume of punches or hand foot movement. Frankly I think Pacquaio could take Williams too. Pacquiao is getting better and stronger every fight and even though im leaning towards Mayweather close decision, I think by the end of 24/7 i'll be fully favoring Pacquiao to win by UD
