NO... there will be more threads to talk about Floyd's brilliance, a technical aspect of his game.... Very good threads!! :hi:
Going back to my original post, it was a fantastic weapon. And, btw, I hate clinching. I consider 2 clinches a round to be too many. If it were up to me, the sport would adopt a system that objectively deducts points after so many are administered per round. Maybe allow for an extra clinch or 2 if a fighter is trying to recover from a KD.
Your threads are worse than most of the Pacquiao excuse threads and it's cluttering up the forum. There are good fights coming up, talk about those instead. Don't you have a prediction to hedge?
I get it, but I respectfully disagree. I don't think the clinches changed the fight much, Manny isn't a great in-fighter.
That jab man, work of beauty. Wish he used it more against other fighters. Dude showed his class. Never used that jab that frequently before. But damn!!!
Whilst I have no real wish to see a rematch (like you I feel that the best fighter won in dominating fashion and a rematch would simply be more of the same) I would probably buy it! After all it would only cost £20 and it would give me an excuse to stay up late (drinking booze and eating all sorts of junk food). Khan is a disgrace and I really do not want him to get the fight!! In my book, any fighter who blatantly ducks an opportunity to fight for a world title, so that they can fight a non-title bout against a far inferior fighter for much less money (and thus , once again circumvent all of the top fighters at 147) whilst demanding the Mayweather fight like it is his birthright should be frozen out! Personally, I think it will be a Pacquiao rematch.. Or Cotto (legacy fight for MW belt against a guy he has already beat comfortably, sounds about right).
I agree with your logic 100% but at the same time I see Khan giving him the most trouble of anyone at 147. Completely agree Khan doesn't deserve the fight after his recent behavior but now I just want to see Floyd in with the man who has the best chance at beating him.
Floyd did clinch quite often in the first few rounds.. After that, he never bothered did he? And they certainly did not change the outcome of the fight (as you correctly said, Manny is simply not a great in-fighter).
