One of the things that come with the Biggest fight ever is the fact that everyone has an opinion on how things are going to play out on fight night, even guys who dont know s*** about boxing, to quote Roger Mayweather. Im going to be making a series of videos detailing the biggest aspects of the fight to pay attention to, and what is going to make a difference in determining who wins. This one is about the Mayweather right hand against Pac-Man. Long story short, that right hand is going to cause Manny a lot of trouble. Historically his defense has been weak against it, and as he has gotten older it has become more of a liability. His work rate has decreased, and it leaves him more susceptible because guys arent on the defensive as much. Not to mention the fact that Mayweather uses that right hand as his primary weapon. Floyd Mayweathers Right Hand Against Pac-Man He has the ability to use it to: lead and counter, shoot it straight or loop it, use it up top or to the body. When guys like Algeri are landing clean right hands all night, you know Floyd will be able to get off with it. Theres a lot more to the fight, but the right hand will be big.
What if... Pacquiao didn't care to be hit by Algieri's right hand...because it wouldn't have done anything? As Bradley said, "Pacquiao didn't care to get hit because Algieri didn't have any power, so he was able to go in there and bully him basically." All in all, Pacquiao was willing to eat Algieri non damaging punches so he could land more of his damaging punches. The strategy worked, obviously, because it was one of his most destructive performances since Cotto. He'll pose a different gameplan against Mayweather; however, if Mayweather CAN'T hurt Pacquiao and Pacquiao finds that out... then he very well may let his guard down and be willing to eat more of Mayweather's rights to land his lefts. That's just something we'll have to wait and see though.
My only concern is that they'll be yet another Floyd/Vegas robbery. Bayless looked after Floyd like a Mother hen looks after her chick in the Maidana 2 fight , Do you think he'll do anything different May 2 Add to him you have the two judges that scored Floyd-Maidana1 117-111 & 116-112 in favour of Floyd which was LUDICROUS!!! Michael Pernick got the score reasonably right with a 114-114 draw. Those 2 cards were very suspect indeed. I scored the fight 115-113 Maidana as did most people watching together even Floyd fans didn't think he really won. They've stacked the deck high against Manny I hope he can overcome the adversity do boxing a big favor & beat Floyd's ass
No disrespect to you personally. It is just that you are making typical Pacquiao-fans excuses. I hear them very often and they sometimes get on my nerves. In this case, you say that Pacquiao purposefully take punches. Some say that he does it because he wants to bring more entertainment into the ring. This point of view is based ONLY on the desire to makes excuses for the boxer. It can be explained from the point of view of psychology but I'll go back to boxing and give me arguments. When Pacquiao took right hand punches from Algieri, what mistake did he made? He left himself wide open when attacking his opponent. Pacquiao is only comfortable in midrange due to his reach disadvantage. So while measuring his distance, he uses his right hand. EVERYTIME, when he uses his right hands, he drops his land hand. It's a reflex, it's not on purpose, he does this all the time. So, Pacquiao leans and overextends, measuring his distance with right hand and leaves himself wide open - and Algieri catches him. Now, yes, Algieri is feather-fisted and his punches are not to be respected. But did Pacquiao do this mistake earlier? It can not be more obvious, Marquez knocked him out this way. Also Marquez was catching him all over again in their 3rd fight. Bradley did it to, though he had less success. What brought success to Marquez is that he was successful in making Pacquiao use his right hand. Marquez used feints, thus provoking Pacquiao. As a result, Pacquiao punch volume drastically reduced in their 3rd fight. This is because Marquez is a great counterpuncher. Let's go back to Mayweather. Of course, he's different from Marquez. Of course, Marquez didn't take Pacquiao easily and had to struggle for 4 fights. But isn't Mayweather a master of feints? Isn't Mayweather a great counterpuncher? Doesn't Mayweather has longer reach than Marquez and a better jab? This is something you should really be questioning yourself. This is not the only one mistake that Pacquiao has been making for years. In terms of styles, Pacquiao is a gift for Mayweather with his defensive flaws, when Floyd is the toughest opponent for Pacquiao. And styles make fights. Still, this is just my opinion and I'm not saying that Pacquaio has no advantages. I expect that he'll surprise Floyd somehow on May 2. But if we ****yze their styles and previous fights, we have to look at it critically.
Pac is a sucker for the right hand in 4 fights with JMM he never adjusted to it or took it away.:deal He eventually paid the price by getting KTFO by it. When have you seen PBF get hit over and over by the same punch, with the exception of a good jab? PBF doesn't get hit by the same punch over and over he can take away your best punch. I see PBF's straight right playing a big factor in this fight and PBF will neutralize Pac's straight left after that what will Pac have left?
That has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Your conspiracy theory and investigative journalist act is grown old, Margo lover. Get ready to be ****ed off again come May 2nd and have you excuses ready because you're going to need them.:hi:
Really? Most people had it 115-113 for Maidana? Not press row or any venerable boxing men scoring ringside. Or the 16 most respected men scoring ringside that night 15 had it for Floyd and 1 had a draw. 116-112 for Floyd was the correct card.
I don't know how long you've been watching boxing for, I kind of question your overall knowledge of the sport. I've been on here for 6 years now and I can gauge after a couple posts from a poster where their level of boxing knowledge is. If you don't think FLoyd Mayweathers punches are going to hurt Manny Pacquiao, than you really know very little about boxing or your favoritism is blinding you greatly. If he's stunning 170 lbs blown up JMW's like ALvarez, I'm pretty sure he'll be making Manny think a lot in there after Pacman tastes his power. I mean for god sakes, I saw Tim Bradley nail him with a counter uppercut that took Pacman OFF of his feet. This is coming from a guy who was PILLOW fisted at JWW, let a lone at WW. Watching his 2nd fight with Bradley and than that garbage fight with that pseudo-professional in Algieri led me to believe a couple things- Pacman has slowed down considerably with his handspeed to the point where any advantage he may have had against FLoyd is currently negligible. Also, he just doesn't have that killer instinct at all to try to knock guys out, probably because he knows if he goes for the KO it'll leave him susceptible to getting countered. He's been playing it REAL safe ever since Marquez put him to sleep. Now let me add something else onto that because I've been reading a lot of your posts for whatever reason. DOn't be surprised in the LEAST bit when you see FLoyd is the larger man in the ring (something he hasn't been since fighting Marquez or Hatton,) and he's having his way with Pacman. I've seen the guy fight since the 90's, no one naturally smaller than him has EVER had their way with him. Ever. I always thought FLoyd was just too skillful for Manny regardless of the year. What really drove that point in for me is the fact he's just the naturally larger man. There's a saying in boxing- a great little man will almost always beat a good big man. In this case though, a great little man probably won't be beating a great big man.
