Floyd Mayweathers underrated wins Many times on ESB I get into debates with posters who have watched a European fighter at the end of their career who knows nothing of their opposition or the relevance of a fight at the time and who show a lack of knowledge on a subject, yet still feel they have something to post. With Mayweather, he is not European and his career has been watched by many, but I notice how there are some (what I can guess must be) younger posters who obviously never watched Floyd in his dazzling prime and think he was prime when in a tough fight with Maidana. We can all recall Floyds great wins over fighters like Cotto but lets look back and discuss some of the others. So let me site some of the more mature posters on here who can recall Floyd in some very good but massively underrated wins - Genaro Hernandez Angel Manfredy Carlos Hernandez Angel Chavez Philip Ndou Zab Judah (Why I rate this win so highly is because I think most times Judah would have beaten Baldimor and Floyd beat Baldomir and could have skipped Judah, but he didnt and fought Judah when he had it all lose and nothing to gain. Massive credit) Bring up some of the other underrated wins and your reasoning Discuss
Judah is the most here. But Diego Corrales is another for me. It was Dominance like we've never seen before from Floyd. He simultaneously put on a clinic and a Beatdown, very underrated performance and very underrated win. Hatton deserves a mention as well
I didnt say his career was underrate, I noted some very good forgotten wins and they are forgotten because of all of Floyds great wins. The wins I noted dont get sited as much because he is remembered for great wins over De La Hoya, Pacquiao, Cotto, Alvarez, Corrales but even if you remove those wins he has still got an amazing resume
They are great wins but I notice people seem to recall them more. I thought the Baldomir win was very good too
I agree. If you took away his signature wins like Cotto, Oscar, Pacquiao, he would still be an ATG with wins over Hatton, Mosely, Alvarez, Marquez etc even if you are not a fan of the weight issues (which I am not), Corrales etc
He never legitimately defeated Pac that was Blatant corruption & should have been declared a N/C Also what chance Hatton had was denied him by Crooked Joe Cortez
I didnt like how Cortez reffed that fight but Hatton did often hit and hold and a ref can break the fighters when that happens. As for the Pac fight, I dont know enough about the situation but if it was so illegal why didnt Pacquiaos team protest and win a complaint?
Do you not rate a fighter with wins over Oscar, Pacquiao, Hatton, Corrales, Hernandez, Cotto, Judah, Maidana, Castillo, Alvarez, Marquez, Mosely to name just a few. Who are the fighters you feel with greater resumes in the modern times?
