Floyd keeps it real after fights. Like how he always is gracious towards those he beats. Watch his espn interviews after the De La Hoya fight.

Right now, he's promoting a fight trying to earn wealth. And he's damn successful at it.

That still wouldnt add up to the countless PPV's that Hoya and Tyson were on.

And Hatton vs Mayweather wont come close to what Hoya vs Mayweather did.

Damn, Floyd has as many moves outside the ring as he does inside it. I'm beginning tho think he knows that he's An Entertainer, like an actor. You ever watch the Andy Griffith show? Andy's the nicest fella in the world. Then check out the movie he made in the 70's about a bunch of buddies riding motorcycles across the desert. Andy turns into a freakin' scary, very convincing psychodude. Is that what Floyd's doing, to maximize his earnings, then all will be forgiven with time?

I basically meant add any two fights in history with Floyd vs DLH/Hatton and you'd be hard pressed to find any making as much revenue.

And you are giving Floyd credit for Oscar's drawing power.

We have yet to see what Hatton vs Mayweather will do but i doubt it will do much more than a million buys.If it does do more that is a direct testament to how good 24/7 is for Boxing.

I agree... he is almost always very gracious after his fights, I have said that before..but come on man... u cant have some fake way about you like that. Don't you think someone wants to know...WHO IS THE REAL MAYWEATHER? And, man, think about it..think about all the HBO subscribers that right now are saying THIS is the best we've got right now? This is the worlds champion? This buffooon??????????????????????? It would be MUCH better for him to be a cordial young man, a respectable young man... reach a WORLD full of fans....don't be fooled into thinking people that don't like him will pay 50 dollars to watch him get beat...they will hope and wish and read about it the next day.

Honestly Ice, since you have been here, we all have figured out that although you were a DAMN GOOD fighter...you in all accounts seem like a MUCH greater guy. I have yet to see you post a negative thing and have been a great addition to the forums.

But in all honesty, about your comments on Floyd, welcome to the club. His skills are on par with ANYONE in history. He had the ability to transend the sport and become 1000x more popular than he is today. But his arrogance and immaturity turn so many off, **** so many off, that that makes that an afterthought.

Ive tried to like the guy (never met him personally of course, but you know what I mean...)...in between the ropes he is a marvel. A fighter that comes around maybe once in a lifetime...but again, how he acts, whether its an act for the camera or not, makes doing that a chore to most. Most of his fanboys mistake this for hate...and never really address the root of the issue. He just doesnt remotely seem like a good person at all.

Its the role he has chosen to portray for himself. And I agree, because of this, he will not be remembered warmly...regardless if there havent been even a handful of fighters in history who were on par with him on a pure skill level. Who knows tho, he is young, he is still fighting, and he still has time (remember, Foreman was HATED when he was in his prime...now he is like a teddy bear...so ya never know). Hopefully he smartens up in time to do it.

It seems from the tone of your posts that you are in the same boat as many of us....only its amplified due to the fact that you have met him...you know him, and maybe that makes you expect a little bit more. But you need not worry about defending him or not to the likes of anyone, again, most of us feel the same way you do.

Floyd is an ATG talent...who has had an ATG career...but he just isnt a good guy (or doesnt want to be....), or at least that is the role he has chosen.

Miguel Cotto and Shane Mosely were cordial. How much did their fight sell. How much interest did that fight generate?

Floyd probably figured out a long time ago what persona he had to act out if he wanted to make it big. The bad guy or the good guy. He chose the bad. And he is so bad at playing the bad guy, people actually believe its genuine.

People are paying to watch. From his last 2 fights its evident. And if he fights Cotto if he beats Hatton, I mean another blockbuster in the making.

Floyd doesnt bother me. Because I know its an act.

Oscars drawing power? Are you serious? Who could Oscar have fought ever in his career that earned half what fighting mayweather earned? When did Oscar break the bank like that? Judah, Baldomir, Oscar and now Hatton will be earning their biggest paydays. Thats not a fluke.

I cant remember what the prediction was, but it was said to be just under Oscar vs Mayweather, which was the biggest ever, this will be probably second biggest.

Meaning you have no argument. Who has Oscar ever fought that approached the figures Floyd earned him and earned in Payperview buys? Nobody. Not even close. And floyds doing it for the 4th time with Hatton.

It seems you dont know what you are talking about.

This is from About.com...first site I saw on google.

    2.

    - $545 million on 12.4 million buys (12 events)

    - $543 million on 12.6 million buys (14 events)

610m in his career, just off ppv...but you think that it was MAYWEATHER'S drawing power that made that fight happen?

    :patsch

True, the Mayweather fight was his biggest one, but this was mostly on the strength of Oscar and the 24/7. Mayweather prior to this didnt do the greatest numbers. Its common sense bro.
