So now this is a "who's the better parent" contest? , what you have stated is pure SPECULATION and personal opinion not FACT, you don't know Floyd well enough to judge how the man is with his children, that's bull****, and yes i have returned to this thread a few times because if you haven't noticed you're replying to my posts directly, and you hit the nail on the head, Floyd ACTS that way, it's not his true personality and many people who's also inside the sport just like you agree, i just heard an interview with Michael Buffer who infers the same, that Floyd is a decent man behind the scenes, and Kids will be kids regardless of how Floyd portrays himself, at the end of the day the mere fact that Floyd rose up from very tough times as a youngster to become the best in the sport should give them inspiration.
Thats class Floyd..bottom of the class:rofl I've said for a long time dude's just a straight ******* and over time it keeps coming true:good Cant wait for the first loss, Floyd will get a taste of reality then:yep No one will listen or let him talk his ****, UNLESS he's paying to do it:hey Money May...... Get the **** out a here you spoiled, lying on ya background clown. Talenetd fighter but complete and total clueless *******:happy
Yes, it IS a parenting contest, that's what this is all about LOL. Look, man, ANYBODY that would let their young and impressionable kids grow up around him talking like that, acting like that needs some parenting skills. Come on now. Be real. WATCH the videos. Watch 24/7. Do you REALLY think that typ eof behavior is what young children who call him dad should be seeing? You don't think that affects themin a negative way???? If you don't think so...then you are REALLY out of touch with common sense and decency. Let's take it to the leading child psychologists inthe world and see what they say about it. I'll bet they will...frown on the behavior
Yea , man. I have met Floyd and got a very godo impression of him to tell u the truth. But you are gonna watch those tapes and tell me thats not HIM? Thatis ALL just an act? Come on now
Yeah but Duran is a real legened and Floyd is only a HBO spoiled punk and if Hatton is not able to kick his arse Saturday then boxing really has gone way way down hill.
No matter what Floyd says or does on hype shows like 24/7 his kids know him better than anyone else and will know he's not like that, so try again Mr Scully because you're failing right now!! , just because he doesn't act like YOU doesn't mean it's wrong, if you can't accept another mans culture than that's just tough luck.
I can't prognosticate how his legacy will fare after he is done boxing, but I have to agree that it's actions like these that make it hard for you to defend dude. I don't think he's a terrible person, but things like this do not make him look good, he's almost living a second childhood. I don't know the entire details, but at first glance it is very unbecoming as I have stated earlier.
So his YOUNG kids differentiate between the real daddy and the fake daddy? Nice!!! LOL. I used to tell people how I had trained in the gym alongside him a couple times out in Las Vegas and how I had talked with on a couple occasions. I always said how cool he was, how willing to talk he was. I remember one time when I asked him to take a photo with myself and some of the kids I came to Las Vegas with for the Jones-Ruiz fight and he was more than obliging, even offering to take pictures next to his car. He came across very well to me, as a matter of fact, but now, after watching this video and seeing him on HBO's 24/7, it's hard to defend the guy. Put it this way, when people watch him on HBO they usually comment on how immature he comes across, and how his arrogance and flashiness is a complete turn off to them. Well, the video I watched him in today makes his performances on 24/7, by comparison, look like a cross between Urkel and Howdy Doody. He is that bad, that ignorant acting, that arrogant, and that much of a turn off. (The fact that he is a soon to be thirty one year old father several times over makes his immaturity and ignorance seem almost alarming) I still believe he will beat Hatton on Saturday but even if he does it will not change the fact that he will have become -if he hasn't already- the poster boy for examples of why people don't like boxing anymore. This is why he will likely never be beloved and if he claims that this doesn't matter to him then I will bet anything he is lying. In my opinion, anyone with an ego like that who says he doesn't care about such things is lying. In twenty years Sugar Ray Leonard will still be revered as a true legend...while Floyd might not draw much attention at all at a fight, because of examples like THIS. Hagler will always be bowed to. Larry Holmes will always get respect. Hearns, Pryor, Arguello and a thousand other all time greats will still be revered long after they leave this earth. I mean, Floyd keeps claiming legendary status but I believe part of being a legend is how strongly your memory is kept alive after you are gone. Twenty years after Joe Louis' last fight, if someone told your dad that he was at the store across the street, your dad would have been over there instantly just to shake his hand. Ray Robinson, Willie Pep, Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, they all mattered (or will matter) to people twenty years after their final fight. Now, do you honestly think, after episodes like this, that in twenty years grandmother's will hear Floyd Mayweather's name and happily recall the grand old days of yesteryear when he was Mother F'ing it across their computer screens back in 07?" I have the feeling that, as talented of a fighter as he is, Floyd will be lucky to get Panama Lewis or Crocodile (Tyson's old hanger-on) to hang out with him that far down the line. You know how crazy it is? Watching Floyd today made me actually think how right his father may have been about him all those times he spoke out about his son. And I am prepared for those who will defend Floyd on this matter while calling me a "hater." I love that. Hater. People say that when they or someone/something they like gets criticized. They will say I am not his fan, and am "hating' on him, because he was a better fighter than me and he made so much more money than I ever did and he is more famous than I could ever hope to be. So it can't just be that I don't like his ways (on the show 24/7 and on the radio show today) because they are ignorant? Because he willingly portrays boxers and our sport in a light that could very well turn millions of potential fans of the sport into ones who flip the switch after just two or three sentences from him? And don't even try that nonsense (like some have attempted tonight on boxing message boards across cyberspace) about how Floyd is "just trying to sell the fight" by acting this way. Nonsense. As great as he is in the ring even he has to realize that an intelligent acting, respectful Floyd outside the ring could have followed the same path that Sugar Ray and Oscar did, and Sugar Ray Robinson before them all, on the way to legendary status in the ring and out. It isn't because I can't understand how in the world a grown thirty year old man acts like a fifteen year old kid who has more than one hundred dollars in his pocket for the first time (throwing dollar bills at the camera while calling himself "Money Mayweather") in his life? It's not because I think that he is doing a great disservice to his kids by giving them something to look back on that will likely (should) cause them great embarrassment? This has nothing to do with boxing anymore. Forget that. I am not a fan of this type of immature ignorance, period, regardless of who it is. I'm a hater? You're a hater!!! LOL
its childish of you to judge a man on what you see on Tv and radio show. when u have met the same individual and he showed nothing but respect to you..
Why are you worried about Floyd's legacy?.. let Floyd worry about that it's none of your business, you're trying to depict a future you have no clue about, at the end of the day Floyd is BOXER and will be judged on how good a BOXER he was, not how good he was at flashing his money or talking smack about his opponants, it's incredible how you have the nerve to talk about Floyd being "good to you" but so quick to judge the man on the evidence of a tv show designed to make people part with their money to WATCH A FIGHT!!. get a grip and find someones else to moan about.
It's childish? Are you SERIOUS? So you watch that video and make NO observations or conclusions in your mind as you view it? Of course you do. We met a few times, he was always cool. Then I see that. How do I know what one is the real Floyd?
Well, smooth, I was going to gripe about you but all I have to go on is what you post here, you know?
TAKE THE MAN BY FACE VALUE!!.. then maybe you might realise the difference between real life and entertainment.
