I think he be worst off if he was trained by Whitaker. Pernell isn't a textbook fighter. Floyd wouldn't be Floyd if someone like Roach made him from the ground up. I don't know what being trained by Naz would have done to him. I haven't see Naz bring up a really elite fighter yet. Floyd training with his Uncle helped him engineer that crazy right hand.
You can talk all the **** you want but if you keep taking challenge and winning then everybody will respect you. But when you talk alot of **** and keep running and dodging like a coward everybody is going to hate you . What kind of WORLD CHAMPION will fight another guy because he live in another area .
Floyd could train himself. I like Roger, as he says some funny ****, but he has no other boxers that I am aware of in the sport. I think Roger makes Floyd at ease during his fights and it is a trust thing as well. Too many people are already trying to take money from the brother so it is best to keep Roger. Check out the Kevin Heart "Floyd training with Roger" skit on YOUTUBE--FNK LOL :smooch
You should have stopped right after Hatton, he hasn't fought ANYONE at ww, his only live opponent has been Ortiz. ODLH and Mosely were shells of themselves, and please don't bother with your detailed explanations of why that's not true, because it IS true. That's how people perceive it, that's how it will go down in the record books, so just save your breath because nothing you have to say about it really matters. As for who he should fight now, it might be too late to save his rep unless he fights Pac and maybe Martinez in quick succession. The megastud welterweights he COULD have fought have all fallen by the wayside both by beating each other's brains out and because Pac has come in and cleaned house. Had Floyd fought and beaten Cotto, Margo and Clotty we'd be talking whether he was going to finish up his legacy above SRL. Now he's just going to be remembered as a high powered Hector Camacho.
I'm sure . First of all great fighter are born with it, it's not just being trained by a certain one atsch. You can take 100 5yrs old kids right now and let Roger train them for the next 10yrs and those that can't fight for **** wouldn't become champion. Some people just have in them, all they need to do is train their body to adapt to it. Even Roger himself wasn't that great .
Ali talked just as much **** if not more, but then he got in the ring and did exactly what he said he was going to do, and he was willing to die in there to make it happen. That's why Ali is probably the most loved fighter to ever walk the earth. So no, other than a few isolated lunatics (even Ali has haters), Floyd would not be hated on if he backed up his words.
Sergio's a hype who'll be totally forgotten as soon as he loses, and he WILL lose to some ordinary MW if neither Floyd or Pac want him. If I was Floyd I would make that fight tomorrow.
Even if Mayweather fight Pacquiao right now it's to late for him to save face already. I have never seen a fighter who call himself the greatest put so many road block on a fight .
Floyd is blessed to have Jeff, Roger and Floyd Sr. take turns training him as he was growing up. He's integrated their styles into his own and it has really paid off.
Wait what does respect have to do with liking a fighter? I said people hate Floyd. There are plenty of people I know that respect Floyd as a fighter but can't stand him. One thing that I always find funny is that whenever Floyd fights someone, they act like the fighter has a real good chance to beat Floyd. But when Floyd wins, that fighter wasn't **** to begin with or Floyd fought them to late/early. I've heard the same thing with Mosley, Ortiz, Oscar, Hatton, Baldomir and even JMM. You can't be a 3 time lineal champ by ducking and running. You can't be number 1 P4P if you duck and dodge everyone.
He's not p4p #1, Pac is. He's not even p4p #2, for some ungodly reason sexio hypejob is. There's no revisionist history going on. When PBF fought Mosely and DLH people said they were old already. When he fought JMM people said JMM was too small. When he fought Baldomir people said it was Floyd taking the easy way out to get a ww belt. He got credit for the Hatton win, as much credit as it was worth, and the Ortiz victory is stained irrevocably because of how the fight ended.
Dude...even if Floyd fought Wald right now it's to late to save his ass. He's going down in history as a coward. Floyd should have pursue a fight with Cotto and Margarito back in 07-08. I think he would have won both fight but for whatever reason he wanted none of them. His comments when asked about fighting both guys clearly say it all. He doing it again with PAC right now. Even if the PAC fight happen right now it's to late to save his cowardly face. The PAC fight should have happen 1-2 yrs ago. I have never seen a fighter put so much road block on a fight .
