When the smoke clears, emotions settle and we fast forward to some point in the not too immediate future, I'd like to think that a lot of the most ardent "Floyd Haters" will finally appreciate this man as not only one of the best fighters ever to step into the squared ring, but one of the most smartest too!! And just for the record I'm, first and foremost, a fan of boxing and not any particular fighter.

Let's examine the facts that tend to be obscured by sensationalism/media bias and unadulterated hating (spitefulness):

    • Boxing - believe it or not - is about hitting and not being hit, and nobody does this better than Floyd
    • Floyd's fought more than his fair share of bouts where he's been the smaller/weaker man, and he's still prevailed and never complained about the weight disparity
    • Boxing is a business and it's actually sensible to consider rewards/risk prior to signing on the dotted line.
    • All fighters pick and choose who they fight to a certain degree and, with direct reference to the previous point, Floyd's no different
    • Because someone calls you out does that mean you have to fight them especially when they've chosen not to do so when it's suited them
    • Maximised exposure = maximised earnings, even if it means you have to be the "guy the like to hate"
    • You can't please everyone so please yourself
    • Doesn't matter who he beats they'll never be viewed as being worthy opponents, until they've been beaten by another name brand fighter
Bottom line, what I like best about Mayweather is his single mindedness!! He refuses to be the stereotypical "Yes Massah" type fighter and he has a - hitherto - unacknowledged ability for consistently negotiating and securing fights that appreciate his bank balance!!

How can anyone begrudge a man for that?:think

The bottom line is ..... If your in a division and claim your the best then clear the damn division and claim all titles. Has he even fought a Top 5 Welterweight yet? ( Dela Hoya was a dried up prune). Obviously you can't see through the smoke yet. Both sides are wrong but PBF won't be remembered in most eyes as All atime Great. Just ask Calslappy. Nobody misses him. (Except his countrymen). Floyds country won't even miss him.

That's true. You've grown into a fully fledged welterweight now, you've been in this division for a quite a few fights, can we now start seeing you against top fighters in this division?

Yes, Floyd doesn't get hit much, and has not taken punishment during his career.
Yes, Floyd has gotten big fights and big paydays.
Yes, Floyd is the best today, P4P.
But, for a guy who talks about being the best ever, he's not doing enough to prove it.
Floyd has selective hearing about who calls him out.
A lot of fighters who don't talk as much, or at all ,have taken on much more formidible challenges than Floyd has.
If you want to enjoy Floyd dominating his hand picked opponents , no ones stopping you.

He fought De La Hoya at 154. De la Hoya wasnt dried up.In fact the weight disparity between Floyd and Oscar was just as big as the weight difference between Floyd and Marquez(Floyd had only fought a couple of fights at welter,Oscar had previously fought at 160). No one complained then.
Judah was atop 5 welter at the time,Baldomir was a top 5 welter at the time. I reckon even Sharmba Mitchell was damn near to being a top 5 welter at the time, and was a previous champ for 2 years.
Hatton was the best light welter in the world and had won world titles at welter.

    how about them?

DLH was a full time promoter part time boxer that had seen his better days and lost via split decision. Floyd came out with a bloody nose and swollen eye after claiming to easily ko oscar or at least dominate him.
Baldomir, you know was on his way out and out of all the champ was the weakest link who was slow and had a style that everyone that knows boxing would fall prey to a Mayweathers. Sharmba was no Welter! Hatton was considered the best light welter, but after Collazo and Lazcano exposed his weaknesses and showed he was open to lefts and struggled against boxers, of course Floyd was not going to pass up that exposed fighter.
I give credit to Floyd in his fight with Judah, even though Judah be he was no top 5 welter. But we all know after 5 rounds, if you hang in there with Zab and don't give in, Judah starts breaking down mentaly. But to floyds credit, he kept his composer in those early round when Zab was out landing him and through the blatent low blow.
But thats not enough for him to talk **** like he has dominated all weights he has stepped up to. that has not happened in welter

I just do not understand when he said Marquez called him out so he accepted the challenge. But I believed Margo called him out several times before and now Shane, but seem to be deaf.

He has not backed his **** talking up, did he dominate DLH or knock him out like he boasted he will do? He said there was no reason why he shouldn't knockout Marquez. And promised we would see a more aggressive Floyd. Marquez was still the aggressor in that fight, even being way out weighed. :-(

I love watching him display his skills just cant stand the **** that spews out his mouth. If he realy wanted to live up to what he promised his fans he would of took it to Marquez and KO'd him. Cotto does, Marquez, Barrera, Mosley, Williams. He don't give a damn about his fans.

He has backed up his talk. The last time I checked he's 40-0 while losing few rounds in the process.:deal Name one fighter that you've seen that was never hurt or never knocked down or every in any trouble in a fight.:deal You're just an irrational hater and would never give the man his due anyway.
