Floyd basically is saying Ali can't be called the greatest cause he lost to Leon Spinks.

Ali outboxed his opponets one cause he was often just the better athlete period especially in hsi younger years as he got older he was craftier and smart....however he still lacked a defense other than reflexes and body work....no way was he complete but he was the best.

right im not saying he didnt have ANY but he relied a lot on reflexes in which he often got hit A LOT of times and thank goodness he had such a great chin....Ali's did not have great defense not anywhere near it.

It is not as far-fetched of a commit as many are making it out to be.
Speed (not completly fair as Mayweather being smaller should be faster but Ali had good speed in his own right) = Mayweather
    Boxing skills = Maywether
    Atletic ability = Ali
Power = Mayweather KO% 64.1 > Ali KO% 60.66 (neither are known for their power)
    Resume (big wins) = Ali
    Resume (acomplishments) = Draw (Ali is a 3 time heavyweight champion and Mayweather is a champion at 130, 135, 140, 147, 154).
In truth they are both All Time Greats who is better is a matter of personal opinion.

Look Ali fought some ATG heavyweight fighters and was heavyweight champion twice at a time when there was a lot of good heavyweights.

The fact that he brought up the spinks thing is very disrespectful, he is insinuating that maybe he isnt as good a speople say he is because of that but what it really is is an ignorant statement.

Floyd has acclomplished nothing compared to Ali and it doesnt matter what we specualte about their abilities the fact is when it comes to accomplishments Ali is MILES ahead of Floyd, and actually if you look at resumes Floyd isnt top 20 atg, no way, i mean Hatton and De La Hoya were destroyed by someone who was a featherweight a couple of years ago.

nah i think he is saying he lost to Spinks because he relied so much on Athletic ability and it was his downfall sometimes and we know ali is and was the better fighter had he been more complete.

Imo i think Ali was ruined badly going in the Spinks fight cause of the Frazier third fight. If ali had fought Spinks before Frazier third fight i think Ali would have never lost to Spinks imo.

right he might not have but again ali took lots of punishment in his later years when his reflexes and speed slowed.....so i agree heading into the Spinks fight he was battered...and Spinks was a live young fighter

I don't see it that way. Muhammad Ali beat much better fighter than Floyd has beaten, and on that basis alone, he should be credited with a higher standing. Floyd has to go out and prove how he good he is rather than just telling us.

I honestly do not think it's that much of a stretch for Floyd to say. But hey, what do I know...I'm just a Mayweather hater apparently...

where would you put Floyd and there is no wrong or right answer i dont know if i would call him a solid ATG simply because i to feel he needs to fight a few more meanigful fights but i ask you this if he is a just a couple fights away in which most people have about two or three people he should fight...i think that already says a lot...i mean for a fighter to only need to fight maybe two to three more meaningful fights and people would acknowledge him as a ATG thats saying a lot.

Floyd's one of the most talented ever, NO ONE can deny that. And as much as I love Ali, he chose at times to mix it up some, so that could be seen as shying away from his skills. Then again, he was fighting some of the best. Floyd's not, and hell, Joe Mesi could look like SRR against the right opponents.

It's a good discussion, but too apples and oranges for me.
