i disagree, i think a complete fighter is a fighter that can do it all in the ring.and like i said ali never through body shots, and ali's resume as nothing to do with being a complete fighter.stay in the lane folks.i see people bring up **** that dont have nothing to do with being a complete fighter.

You need stats on how Floyd says stupid **** to play the heel and make people watch the fight cause they don't like him?

My point was Ali needs no defence. Floyd is Floyd, Ali is the greatest.

great post. but people put too much aspect on athleticism/speed. quite unfair since pbf started at 130 while ali fought at the heavies.

2nd. resume/level of competition. there is simply no denying this.

sure pbf is the better boxer/better potential.
but ali had the better wins against tougher competition.

ergo. people would say that houston rockets had one of the best teams on paper, one of the best lineup. great potential. but history is adjudged by the championships you make against tough opponents.

this is where pbf lacks against ali.

skill set does not translate to big wins naturally.

tracy mcgrady and the houston rockets has been for years one of the best line-ups/potential. skill set.

they don't win championships. what i am trying to say, you can have the skill set of the greatest of all time in the whole universe but if you go and fight the likes of zab, baldo, gatti, and smaller fighters like hatton and jmm.

heck. who is the biggest win in pbf's resume.

corrales? above the hill genaro and dlh? hatton? gatti? is this the resume of the greatest of all time?

He said SRL would be just a contender in his WW division. There was a thread about this a while back.

Floyd is indeed a more complete fighter than Ali. Ali doesn't have any infighting skills - zero. When he is close to his opponent all he does is clinch 100% of the time.

And Ali does not throw body shot.

IMHO I don't see what all the fuss is over I really don't see the big deal in Floyds statement. He honestly spoke the true Floyd is a more complete fighter than Ali. The statement isn't maid to diminish Ali or to discredit of take away from his many accomplishments. honestly pre exile ali was more complete than after the 3 year exile ali physically, ali had much better legs and defense as a young man before the exile but to get to my point, ali is the greatest of all time. His one dimension is much better than every other boxer’s complete game. Ali had a hell of a chin one of the greatest chins of all time. The fastest hands in heavyweight history belong to Ail only second to pre Douglas tyson. Ali had amazing stamina. Ali had the foot movement and grace of a gazelle, and if Floyd does use the ring to box its called running; seems like a paradox. And Ali had a ring IQ second to none, imo Floyd does have ring IQ that matches Ali. But Ali’s fatal flaw was when he found out he could take a punch. To be honest Ali didn't body punch and he wasn't effective at infighting, but I will say this Ali is the greatest. But complete fighter he wasn't and the truth is you use what works. And it’s not your fault if you don't have to adapt in the ring. You know the saying styles make fights well its true only in the since that both the operators are of equal skill, but Ali even being a incomplete fighter is the greatest of all times based on his implacable, infallible can’t be diminished resume. And resume IMHO opinion has nothing to do with who you fought but who you fought and beat. Mayweather is my favorite fighter I may be accused by some of being a nut hugger and such, but I will say this my favoritism of Floyd is only based in skills. Floyd is pretty unintelligent he consistently kills his on key points with his simple vocabulary and grade school education, but for all his flaws and nobody is perfect the man has an abundance to take care of his family for generations to come, Floyd had a point when he said Ali wasn’t a complete fighter, but when he brought up loen Spinks this is were I draw the line ali was already shot and was suffering from the onset of Parkinson’s imho. The very mentioning of the Spinks fight asinine. Floyd in essence all ways shits on his points with ass redundant comments. And all you Floyd haters out there come on out the closet and admit you want the guys balls in your mouth, cuz every thread about Floyd you simple jack mofos show up and try and **** on the man because he is a ass outside the ring, boxing isn’t about popularity and ass kissing its about love for the sweet science, noting more nothing less.

It's the simple fact he has the audacity to come out and say such a thing, when he hasn't accomplished nearly as much Muhammad Ali - and most likely never will. He wasnt' asked specifically about the man, he just thought he'd tell the media that he thought he was more complete and he somehow thought it would be a good idea to say, "He lost to Leon Spinks". The guy was a complete shadow in '78. I don't need to tell you this.

Forget about whether or not what he says is true - it's the simple fact he came out and said it with a straight face.
