Floyd "Money" Mayweather once again proves he is the face of Boxing

Greenburg is the one with the figures and he says Mosley is a draw. Certainly bigger than Margarito. I was wrong earlier though, he considers Mosley in the top 4, not top 3.

And Schaefer said they had spent more money on the promotion, than any other fight in boxing history. Again, he'd know and it's not something he'd lie about.

Even Ellerbe lied when he said the fight did 1.4m buys. It didn't do that, so how can you say the fight did 1.6m?

 

If Pac was a little ***** and fought once a year like Floyd, Pac would outsell Floyd.

That's what Schaefer said. Why would he lie? He said it before the fight had taken place too, at the final press conference, I think, so there was nothing to gain or lose.

 

Floyd vs Shane.....2 US BORN FIGHTERS. PAC vs Marg....2 NON US BORN FIGHTERS. US PPV#'s favor US BORN FIGHTERS 99% of the time....the one 1% that is left over is basically PAC.

Considering his dance partner was being boycotted by A LOT of boxing fans and the fact he's from MX and not the US....PAC carried the PPV buys on his name, celeberty and noteriety. Floyd should be embarrassed if anything. We are talking about US PPV Buys and he is barely edging out the midget Flip who Floyd has been ducking.

Yes they were boycotting Marg kid! There were MANY writers, fans and those who knew about Marg's ordeal who were trying to get the fight stopped.

Floyd didn't outsell PAC in the UK....he outsold him in the US.

The guys job is to make money for HBO, which he does by assessing which fighters make money and which don't. He holds the most power of any TV executive involved in boxing, so if he says Mosley is a draw, he is. You can pick out numbers if you want, but he has far more resources than you, to base his opinion off.

He does, but why would he? There is nothing to gain from that type of lie.

The 1.4m number is probably bull**** too. Iole said it was between 1.1m and 1.2m, so if he is telling the truth, and he is a trusted source, then it's really not that impressive.

Let's look at the facts:

1. Mosley is a bigger draw than Margarito.
2. Mosley/Mayweather had far more money spent on it's promotion, than Pacquiao/Margarito.
3. Mosley was in a far better position than Margarito, who many didn't want to see.

Even if the true numbers are 1.4m, it still doesn't mean Mayweather is a much bigger draw. If you actually look at the expectations for the success, Mayweather/Mosley underachieved and Pacquiao/Margarito overachieved.
