I disagree, even in a loss, it's a great learning experience for Thurman. Canelo was pretty green, improved cuz of that loss. Plus Floyd is on the slide, kinda gives an advantage to Thurman, of course that doesn't guarantee KT is gonna win. Aside from Brook, Thurman is the only other ww people want to see Floyd get in the ring with.

But often you have scenarios where fighters after a loss lose their confidence and just go into regression, I don't want that to happen to Thurman.

There are other good fighters out there for Floyd, namely Brook, Porter, Khan, Bradley (maybe).

That's what I'm saying, as much as I want the Mayweather-Thurman match, he's fighting in a week!

True, but Floyd isn't a brutal puncher that leaves his opponents traumatized or gunshy in their next fights. He tends to expose them by outboxing them for 12 rounds, not a beatdown or knocking them out in brutal fashion. I do agree Mayweather-Brook is more likely to happen and probably a boxing purist's dreamfight, not the fan friendly type.

    strong disagree.

If he loses to Floyd it's not a career ender. Floyd is the best in the game right now there's no shame in losing to him. Plus, I want fighters to care less about their '0' and more about the quality of their opponent. Tough interesting fights matter more than a perfect record (or at least they should).

I think Hatton is the only one that was gun shy afterwards. But then again that was his last legit KO.

But that often has an equally adverse or even worse effect as well, getting outboxed can seriously damage your confidence.

I mean imagine yourself getting caught and knocked out, you would probably think to yourself "Okay, I got knocked out, he caught me, **** happens". Now imagine getting absolutely dominated from start to finish by a much superior fighter when you think you're the top of the world?

Floyd's had his time let him ride into the sunset and Thurman's time will come. But Maybe I'm just too much of a Thurman fanboy though lol.

KT is a young, strong good sized welter, I don't think he'd do any worse than Canelo did against Floyd, actually I think he'd do alittle better. If it was KT taking on a prime Trinidad, that's a different story, better have that stretcher ready. Thurman is pretty versatile and with speed and power, that's a dangerous combination.

Floyd has never fought a young fighter with speed and power before.

If he picked Thurman you'd say that it's a terrible fight and he is ducking Khan  You can't lose because there's always somebody else, Mayweather could fight all five suspected opponents at once and you'd be miserable that Bradley wasn't in there so say he fought all of them so what, he avoided Bradley! Mayweather is a coward!
