Not that he'll lose, but there's a chance. He doesn't look that great against southpaws , and he's taken a lot of lay-offs. Ortiz at least has punching power and can hurt Floyd. He's got a pretty decent reach too.. he's a big guy. Ortiz is likely too green to beat Floyd, but the fight can still backfire in other ways. Ortiz is a southpaw like Pacquiao , but he's B-class. If Floyd doesn't dominate him completely, it'll make him look bad. People will say he struggled with a nobody. It'll further legitimize the reasons that he's ducking Pacquiao. I'll be the first to say that Floyd has no chance against Pacquiao if Ortiz hurts hurts him or wins more then 3 rounds.
I think that Ortiz doesn't have what it takes to land on Floyd. His punches are pretty wide and Floyd will see em coming a mile away. He's also gonna be out of position all night. Expect his output to drop.
Void is a proven coward, he is still running from Pac and turns down huge paydays over and over again, spits on the fans..............Void is void.........
But your still upset that ortiz took your money when he gave berto a spanking! Remember that? Sour much? :hat
Maybe , it depends what version of Floyd and what version of Ortiz shows up. You can't underestimate the age / lay-off factor. And stylistically, Ortiz can give Floyd problems, even though he's not in his class. Other things to consider: Ortiz is the same height as Floyd, and has just about the same reach. He's big and strong . At the very least he can make the fight interesting for 5-6 rounds, it just depends how he behaves in the fight.
ortiz would actually make floyd look very good. it would be an easy fight and people would say how easy floyd handled a southpaw so floyd would easily beat pac.
There's a flip side to that coin... If ortiz gives floyd problems it proves that pac would do it x 10
Nah if that happens ppl will just say Floyd a beat an opponent everybody expected him to beat easily. It's not like he's fighting an elite level fighter. Nobody outside of hardcore boxing fans know who Ortiz is .
depends on how much trouble he gives floyd. if its a close fight, the odds will swing in pacs favor. floyd has fought more polished southpaws but he has yet to fight a 12 rd lefty with power to drop anyone at this weight. everyone interested in a pac-may fight will be watching how floyd deals with straight lefts and combination punching in the later rds. floyds conditioning has not been tested under constant pressure for 12 rds in a very long time. if floyd can end it early or shut ortiz out, then he is better than i give him credit for. if floyd beats him 8 to 4, then they are right around where i have them both.
why would I be upset when I made all my money back betting on Salido to knock out JuanMa that same night! :smoke Remember that! oh and Berto would whoop him in a rematch.
It would make things interesting. But I'm not going to concede. People would still pay to watch Pac-Floyd. Mayweather has a way to get his job done. It doesn't have to always be pretty. And who's to say Ortiz will not become a vastly improved fighter at 147? If he wins more than 3 rds against Floyd he could probably win more against Pac. Now what if Pac mightily struggles or loses to Marquez in November? Are YOU gonna say Pac has no chance against Floyd? I'm willing to bet you'd tell me, "styles make fights." If both Pac and Floyd struggle in their upcoming bouts then obviously the issue becomes null and void.
it's not happening. The style is just too open. Too many openings, too many wide punches, no method to the madness.
I'm not so sure about this fight. I do think Floyd took the least chance of losing possible (as he usually does), but if Ortiz looked like he did in the Berto fight, and if Mayweather stood more and fought (like in the Mosley fight) and if he lost a step on top of that and ages....Ortiz could pull off the upset. I still won't be ordering the PPV...I'll just watch it the next week on HBO, but not that bad of a fight more than likely.
Naw don't think so Floyd will come in better than ever late round tko or wide UD keep hoping *******s LMAO
