I don't think so. Mainly because I think Floyd and Pacquiao are in the twilight of their respective careers. Offensively, neither can showcase what Leonard and Duran put on display either. They simply don't have that kind of offensive diversity, imo.
The big difference I see is that Mayweather's defense is much better than Leonard's. As much as I think Leonard was a greater overall fighter his defense wasn't all that great compared to Mayweathers and he was easy to draw into firefights given his heart and temperament. Pac is not in Duran's class.
The difference is Leonard Duran 1 really happened. Mayweather will never fight Manny. Mayweather has never fought a top fighter in their prime once in his career doubt he will start now and not even for 100 million dollars.
I can't imagine Floyd not being able to make whatever adjustments are needed in order to win a fight. He has been to war and boxed in the same fight and has proven to be the best in his generation in terms of ad******g to his opponents. He has been pushed very little in the fights he has been in recently. His level of "war" is probably quite a bit lower than than Leonard's but what fighters isn't. If every fighter compared themselves to Ray Leonard before they got out of bed in the morning 99.5% of them would stay in bed.
Pac has never faced a top fighter in their prime. DLH did a few times and lost almost every one of those fights. The bar is very high.
Mayweather's best defense is a vacation and a steroid claim cover up. He barely came out standing against Mosley. He hardly throws punches and should never get that hurt like Hopkins. He is not balanced enough to be like a Manny or a Duran. He score no late round knockouts, and never showed his defense against a true ATG in their prime. He never surprises you just maybe a knockout of Delahoya like Manny and Bernard or just knock down vs. Mosley or JMM but he can't do that even when they are on their last legs. When you take away the smoke and mirrors he can't touch Manny or Duran.
I've watched that video so many times and it always looks like a bollocks shot to me :huh what is the punch that actually lands?
Probably more like Duran-Leonard II but without a no mas from Pac but the same frustration. Actually Duran was in the fight but clearly frustrated. I see the same with Pac-May. Pac wil win some rounds on aggression but not enough. Floyd by competetive but very convincing decision. Ps Im hoping PAC lays him out Hatton style though!!
man, leave the floydiot alone. he's a moron. "Pac has never faced a top fighter in their prime?????!!" a moron indeed.
