A welterweight came out of retirement to fight a Lightweight. I really hope Marquez gives him all that he has on Floyd. The way I see everything, Beristain and JMM already has a plan on how to beat floyd. Execution is key though. They have to time everything right coz Floyd is quick but I'm pretty sure JMM already knows how to take care of it. JMM should think that this is his chance to make Pacquiao come after him instead. When I read this, the thought of Manny facing PBF has gone from might happen to will not happen coz of Arum won't even think of letting Pacman get the smaller share. What made me think though is that... IF PBF beats ( remember I said IF ) JMM, who is he gonna fight next? Cotto? Mosley? Williams? Is he gunning for those Welterweight Titans? Or is he gonna ask Tim Bradley to fight him?
I guess nobody realizes the blatant double standards here. Are we not forgeting that Arum actually said that he would want a 65/35 split in Pac's favor. Pac accepts a 50/50 split with Hatton(the same Hatton who got a 30/70 split with Mayweather), yet he's supposed to get 65% against Mayweather? Where is the logic in that figure? The numbers don't lie. The live gate and ppv numbers for Floyd's fights fights with Hatton and Hoya are much bigger than Pac's numbers with those same two fighters. You even have Arum trying to inflate numbers to make Pac look better. Despite this, Mayweather gets blasted for asking for more than 50%(he didn't even specify how much more than 50% he wanted) And look at their numbers in PPV fights against non discript opponents. Pac's fight against Diaz didn't even crack 200k while Floyd pulled in 350k against Baldo. If the Mayweather/Marquez fight does well, team Pac will have zero argument for asking for 50/50. If the fight bombs or does mediocre numbers, it's a different story.
word. Fans can lie and spit out bull**** just to prove who is bigger but numbers don't lie. Floyd is the draw:deal
It was because alot of people thought the fight was a circus show meant to increase dlh and pacman's bank account. going into the fight, alot fans were turned off and they were saying it was a big mismatch and that the fight was a joke so they will not watch it.
Take some lessons on economics, dude. Less disposal income for non-essential things like PPV. In other words, effects of recession. No basis for comparison.
Yeah, but this is his first time to fight at l43-147 (Two weight divisions higher) compared to Pac who has already gotten accustomed to 140-147.
