Floyd Patterson 1956 vs James Toney 2003

If Patterson gave Ali competitive fight and if he was able to outbox great boxers like Ellis,Chuvalo,Bonavena who hit a lot harder than Toney I don't think Toney can do anything.
He can't KO Floyd and he can't outbox him since greater boxers like Ali could only do that and Floy can lose by ko against only HW punchers with good punch and chin.

 

Floyd was knocked out one twice, against Ingemar and by Liston who were monster punchers, and Toney power is not comparable with Alis power.
Also Toney was nothing compared to Ali especially HW Toney who was slow and lacked stamina he had as smw.

 

No one came close to prime Ali and not even Toney, who could not move as fast as Ali when he was fighting against Holyfield.

 

I agree with what Rockin1 said, and I believe that Patterson will be too fast, too strong, and too technically sound of a heavyweight for Toney to be able to win against him.

 

I only went back to read his first post, because I saw it earlier but didn't remember who said that Toney struggled with quicker fighters.
