This was done a little while ago with Walcott, and Jersey Joe actually fared pretty well in many estimations...How does Floyd do in a similar situation??? Is Floyd underrated H2H or is he one of the worst H2H of the potential atg Hw's??? How does Floyd fare against:

    Rocky Marciano
    Joe Louis
    Muhammad Ali
    Jack Dempsey
    Jack Johnson
    Gene Tunney
    Sonny Liston
    Joe Frazier
    George Foreman
    Larry Holmes
    Mike Tyson
    Lennox Lewis
    Wlad Klitschko
    Vitali Klitschko
    David Tua
    Ken Norton
    Jersey Joe Walcott
    Ezzard Charles
    Riddick Bowe
    Evander Holyfield
    Max Schmelling

How do these fights play out??? Does he win many...any????

Could win against Johnson, Tunney, Dempsey, Norton, Walcott, Charles and Schmeling. Loses against the rest.

I think a Johnson-Patterson match would look like Johnson vs Ketchel, with Floyd playing the role of Ketchel.

In my opinion, Floyd beats Gene Tunney, Max Schmeling, Ezzard Charles, Evander Holyfield, Ken Norton, David Tua, Vitali Klitschko. That's 7.

Substitute Vitali for Johnson and Holyfield for Walcott and I'd agree with you.

If Patterson gets access to modern nutrition/supplements/weight training like Vitali does...Patterson would come into the ring at a ripped 215lb and take vitali apart. Floyd is too fast and technical for Vitali. He would make a sloppy uncoordinated giant like vitali look bad. Vitali is a wear you down type, not a one punch artist..so I don't think he presents a dangerous early threat for Floyd like others would.

I like Floyd over Holyfield. Floyd's combinations would beat holy to the punch in exchanges. Holy didn't have the massive power to really threaten floyd..and I think Floyd was the more skilled/talented of the two.

I like Jersey Joe over both Holyfield and Floyd. I think very highly of Walcott. Walcott could beat anyone. Literally.

Are we just doing this H2H or are we giving Floyd the benefits of modern nutrition, weights,PED'S etc???

If not Floyd is simply too small to be effective against a giant like Vitali depite him being a vastly more talented fighter than the elder Klit.I just see him being worn down and physically overwhelmed late against Vitali but certainly not blown out early.

The Patterson of the Moore fight is simply too fast and modern for Johnson and is a nightmare style wise for Walcott.Cuties like Walcott can be nullified by fast, accurate combination punchers (as he was twice against Charles who I reckon Floyd was at better Heavyweight than) and Patterson with his in-out style and tight peek a boo defense wouldn't fall into Walcotts clever traps.

Poor old Floyd gets short shrift in match ups against other champs but if you watch his display against Moore you wont see too many more impressive title winning efforts. It was a virtuoso display and I rank him very highly on that performance alone.

I think Floyd would beat Charles, Walcott, Rocky, Dempsey, Tunney and Frazier( kinda iffy on this one) but there's no way with the rest of them.

Maybe he could beat Charles, Walcott and Norton but I wouldn't bet on it.

The others I think beat him.

There are several guys on that list that I'd give him a fair chance against, but wouldn't make him a decisive favorite against any of them. When it comes to legacy, Floyd's is better than the mojority... Head to head however, he's one of those heavyweights who could have proved vulnerable to a great number of men that rated below him..

So are you saying Gene Tunney and Max Schmeling were better than Walcott and Charles?

If so, then I Don't agree with you at all there

I personally think Floyd would be wayy to fast for Schmeling. I also think Floyd's combination punching fast hands would spell death for a low handed fighter like Tunney. If tunney doesn't hire his gaurd, Floyd will knock him out.
