i'll leave the stats and film watching to more qualified people such as yourself thank you.
Which feather fisted middleweights put Charles on his **** BTW and how do you qualify a fighter as feather fisted ??

It sounds like Patterson was already padding his legacy.

"I don't call that a knockdown. A knock down is when the fighter goes down and doesn't know where he is."

Patterson could probably wind up claiming that he always knew where he was- therefore his 20 or 21 trips to the canvas weren't really knockdowns.

Overlin was a featherfisted middleweight and had Charles down. Bivins was also a lighr hitter at every weight he boxed at and had charles down numerous times. Are we so defensive that we are going to pretend every guy who dropped or hurt charles was a banger?

    True.
He beat Archie Moore and Ingemar Johansson.
And a few other decent punchers too.

Team Patterson avoided big sized heavyweights with power. They even publicly admitted it. In 1955 Patterson asked cus "when can I fight bob baker?" Damato replied " when your ready to fight heavyweights I'll let you know, but never against a heavyweight like baker". Instead Damato threw him in with light hitting Jimmy slade

Still think Patterson may have beaten a prime Marciano?
