Jeez Senor, you've enlightened me. It should have been Thad Spencer vs. Ali (oops, Cassius M. Clay) in Vegas 11/22/65. What the hell was I thinking? Floyd had only come back after the Liston quinella with big wins over Machen and Chuvalo. Thad had those big second tier wins (and losses) that certainly warranted Floyd stepping aside and letting the Babe school the overrated Clay...

    Jowcol.

Everything that I have posted is a FACT.

Floyd Patterson had earned the #1 Heavyweight position in late-1965.

But, he entered the ring, with a serious back injury.

Of course, a $600,000 payday would make anybody do anything in 1965.

The best fight in the ring on November 22, 1965 in Las Vegas.

Thad Spencer vs. Amos Lincoln, a wild 10-Round slug-fest that had
the 8300 Convention Center fans cheering throughout.

    Las Vegas Sun,

"One of the best heavyweight fights of the year, and this will be a
tough act to follow for Mr. Clay and Mr. Patterson.'

Oh yes,Frankie ! By 1965,Ali was a far more mature fighter than he was when he fought the three whom you mention. Especially the Johnson fight. The young Cassius Clay was around nineteen years of age at that time.

But then Floyd Patty was considered far better quality than them 3 , outpointing Machen whom outpointed Jones , outpointed Chuvalo whom KOd Jones , KOing Cooper himself .

Ali almost always beat some way or another handicapped opponents , when he "beat" them at all and people assume that he would have done just the same if their handicap was not there , he must be the greatest to scam so many , but then again maybe not , because the Republican Party and religion do just the same .

    This is a Fact,

The Nevada State Boxing Commission was so 'pissed' at Floyd Patterson for
hiding is injury, and flat out 'lying' to the Boxing Commission Physician, that they
put him on a 'lifetime suspension', and banned him from ever fighting in Las Vegas again.

He tried to re-apply for a Nevada Boxing License in 1967, and he was told 'NO'.

He never fought in Las Vegas again.

    Dr. Michael Blatt,

    Floyd Patterson's personal doctor,

'I begged Floyd to call off the bout, as he was in no condition to fight anybody,
let alone Cassius Clay. I told him you're crazy Floyd, if you can't move you
    can't fight.'

'He said, if I just hit him once, it will make my night. I told him, only fools talk
like that, lets pack it up and come back another day when you're 100%.'

'He said he was worried that he would never get another chance at the Heavyweight
Championship, because he was 30 years-old, and all these young kids are coming
    up the ladder fast.'

This is silly. In fact Floyd only fought once before in Vegas, so the fact that he never fought there again after the Ali fight means very little, especially when you consider that Vegas wasnt the boxing center it would become until years after Patterson retired. Nice try duce.
