Against Ali, Norton was absolutely brilliant. But his losses to the big punchers seems to count heavily against him by many.
I was quite surprised by the majority of posters picking Patterson. When I saw this thread, my immediate gut feeling was that Patterson could win this one. However, I thought that most would pick Norton because of his size advantage and performances against Ali. Was a kind of pleasant surprise to see that most picked Floyd.
Norton had the size and power advantage by a mile, but speed and movement may prove the key to a Patterson decision win.. I Like Norton by KO... around 1975.. But prime for prime it could have been close.. Its strange for me to imagine these two boxing because i saw them every day side by side in the MGM grand as greeters in the 90's.. Ken made 2 of Floyd and they looked 3 weight divisions apart.. Ken was around 245 pounds of muscle while Floyd was around 190 pounds and almost 6 inches shorter because of his age.. I couldn't imagine this fight..
He was no Shavers or Foreman, but he could pack a good punch. He did stagger both Ali and Holmes, and that's not too shabby.
